finally got my orders today. Now I have these items:

-evod 900 mah, Output voltage: 3.8V
-evod twist vv 1600mah, 3.2-4.8V
-usb to ego charger
-7 years old assus laptop
-a travel adapter for samsung sm-t210
-evod bcc atomizer with 3 coil heads

My laptop is old. I want to charge the evod batteries through samsung 's travel adapter. Its specifications: model no: eta-u90ewe input:100-240v, freq:50-60hz 0.35A, output: 5v-2A.
I have two questions:
1.Is it safe to charge the batteries through samsung's adapter?
2. do you have any cleaning suggestion before starting to use these items?

thanks for any help

Hello gtwashere and welcome to ECF. I use like 10 or 12 ego 510 batts, a spinner II and 3 of the X6 batts so I had to find a way to charge more than one batt at a time. I found at walmart a plug in to the wall 4 usb charger for less than $10.
As for cleaning your atomizer I would do like Katya suggested and clean it in alcohol and rinse it with water.

I don't clean my atomizers with Isopropyl. I use PGA or cheap vodka for a quick soak and I dry burn the coils once in a while. I wash the tanks with hot water and a little dishwashing detergent.

I only clean the threads and outside connections (center posts) on my batteries and atties with isopropyl alcohol.

I don't know... honestly, I'd recommend getting a wall adapter--they can be had for a few bucks and are a much better and safer alternative, IMO.

I think my old laptop is safe. it has usb2 iinterface (usb 2.0 ouput: 500ma, usb 3.0 output:900ma). I already have a cheap chinese wall adapter with 500ma output. I'm worried about the quality but I will use it. as a result, every gadget is a little chinese nowadays. thanks for the help

I am new in the vaping world. I ordered a vamo v5 now. I hope it will reduce safety issues. think you are an experienced user. I want to ask you a question. what is your safe routine for charging an ego battery with a standard usb/ego charger?

You will like the Vamo 5. I use mine daily. Get yourself a couple 18650 batteries for it. There is concern with charging the 510 batteries because from what I understand some blew up and created house fires. So I usually charge mine when I am awake usually in an area I am in. With the amount of clone ego batteries as well as the spinner II mostly being clones its just something I dont want to trust too much because you cant always guarentee quality control with clones. So far never had a problem but its always better to be safe than sorry.

Yes and no its the same. The output of the standard 510 USB charger is regultaed to 4.2 volts at 420 mah. Most USB sockets are at a set output voltage which is 5V + or - .55 volts. If your running a hub from a USB port without a hub power supply then you will have a voltage/amperage drop because its sharing one output among a few. But you wont go over unless there is a power spike.

On the charger issue. The wall wort may be capable of outputting 1 or more amps @ 5vdc. The ego charger uses however much of that available 5vdc current to produce 4.2vdc @ .4 -.5 amps. The output of the ego charger is what is provided to the ego battery. The wall wort only provides whatever the current the ego charger demands and no more..

Practically every fire issue in regards to e-cigs have been associated to charging:

Three examples I was able to find in the span of about 5 seconds... So yes, the wall worts fail and Ego chargers are far from the most reliable piece of hardware around!

No one is disputing that happens iamthvoice. Yet with as many clones are sold cheap made from cheap materials is it any wonder why that happens? I am just suprised it doesnt happen more. The problem is how do you determine if its a real Ego batt or a clone? How to determine if that Vision Spinner II is real or a cheap clone? Just a wild guess on my part but I think for every 10 or 15 Ego C batteries sold, only one of them is real from Joytec made with quality materials, the rest are put together as cheaply as possible.
