I never had problems with my original Twists but I recently bought a couple of the Twist ll and the first one I bought will no longer screw into the charger. The one I've had for a few weeks less is heading in the same direction. It appears the metal used on them is too soft and the threads are only lasting a few months. I was curious if it was just my bad luck or if this a common with these.

What do you mean by clones? Fakes?

I just checked and noticed I'm only getting about 2 months out of these. I still have a couple original Twists that are losing their oomph, but the threads are still in great shape, and that's after several months or even close to a year of usage. I never screw them in tight.

Yep, tried a different charger. I can definitely see the difference in internal threads between the Twist ll's and the original Twists. I did manage to get the worse one charged even though it wouldn't catch on the threads at all. I pushed it in until it showed connection and slowly set it down. I'll give the dental floss a shot. Thanks for all the replies.

I use a bunch of eGo batteries and the only time I've had that issue is on a store-branded (so, clone) which behaves the same: the outer threads can keep it on the battery in use, but the inner threads won't hold onto the charger. Also, the whole connector pulled out of the body - it's still connected by the (short) internal wiring and it will go back into the sleeve but it won't stay there. I should just give up on this thing.

They do make adapters that will solve your problem...that will screw onto the outer threads (the eGo ones) and they have a 510 connection on the other end that you can use to recharge the battery. They're definitely 1 of the hardest adapters to find, as most websites call what they actually have...the wrong name!

What most websites call an eGo to 510 adapter really isn't that at all...it's an adapter that has male 510 threads on one end that go into your existing female 510 opening and the other end is a new 510 female opening with the larger eGo threads on the outside of it. But...that's totally useless because your female 510 opening threads are stripped, so they cannot accept the male 510 end on the adapter! I want to say DUH! to so many website owners it's not funny. I must have looked at 20 websites that ALL called it the wrong thing and all showed the same wrong adapter I just described.

What you want, and what I finally found...looks like the metal top part of a regular eGo battery, but without the hole where the fire button usually would be. It's an adapter that has the female eGo threads inside on one end and the normal 510 female opening on the other end, that has eGo threads on the outside of it as well. So you essentially end up with a whole new set of threads for both 510 and eGo. I screw the adapter onto the eGo threads of my battery (covering up the stripped 510 thread opening) and attach my charger to the other end where the new regular 510 female end is. Waalaa...it works like a charm!

Because they're not carried by many websites, they cost more than most other adapters though. I got mine at ecigaretteimpressions online, and when I bought mine on October 19 last year...they cost $3.89 each. Since they're hard to find, I bought 6 (some for me and some for friends who couldn't find them either)! They are called "eGo to eGo - 510 Adapter" on their website and are described as follows there:

"Description: Attach to Standard eGo Threading to protect and/or extend the life of the original eGo-510 connection threading on Vamo's, Lava Tubes, eGo's and other PV's with like threading."

They are definitely what you're looking for! :)
