I've been using my EVOD for the last week with a 2.2 ohm coil on a standard eGo battery, and I'm starting to wonder if I would be better off with the 1.8 ohm version. It doesn't seem like I get quite as much of a hit from it as I do the from the starter kit clearos.

EVOD users, what do you like?

FWIW, I really need to stick with the regular ego batteries for the next few weeks until my wallet recovers from the initial spending spree. In a month or so I'll probably upgrade to VV in one form or another, but 'till then...

Well, for about 20 dollars you could get a protank to go on your ego battery. It makes the battery a bit top heavy but the vape is absolutely amazing. I use Spinner batteries so I would just up the voltage. I've experienced the 1.8 ohms and it's a very very tight draw. I didn't like it but I've been using my protank and it's a much airier draw but...loads of vapor. Or...you could just use the starter kit clearos that came with it until you could afford something else.

OK then, I'll pick up a couple of 1.8s and give them a try. The 2.2 seems to work well for some things, but not so much for others.

Thanks all!

PS: does anyone find the EVOD to be an airy draw (for lack of better terms)? I've put clear packing tape over one of the three holes in the connector to tighten it up a little.

I get a slight burning taste with 1.8 ohms on an Ego for first few hours after recharging, 2.2 may be lowest to go with getting this, although I have only used 2.4.

as it gets gunked ohms will rise

-.04-06 under optimal perfect coil for a week of vapes

a 1.8 by weeks end is 2.0 or higher
percents rise also depending if you keep your contacts clean

Does resistance really go up? The wire should still be the same diameter and hence same resistance even if it is covered, unless
some of the wire is lost ie vapourised which is a bit worrying.

Yes, I have to do the same thing with the Evod.

I use the 2.4 ohm head with regular Ego batteries.

I may be eating my words from before, I get a nice warm vapor from a 1.8ohm on my 3.7v eGo. With a 2.2ohm I'm getting good vapor but the warmth and little of the flavor are gone. On my twist I'm getting that same warm vapor and good taste at about 4.2v with the 2.2ohm. For the sake of taking my smaller non VV eGo out with me, I'll be choosing the 1.8ohm. This is weird and not what I expected though, because I have no issue with my 2.2ohm T3's on the 3.7v eGo.... strange...

About the airy draw, I thought the T3's were airy, but the EVOD has an even lighter draw IMO. I like it, a lot. The airier the better for this guy. Reminds me of a hookah without the water percolation.

Interesting.... here (Uk) the Evod heads are listed as 1.8..2.5...2.8ohm and thats why I re-coil mine to 1.9ohm :D

EVOD Atomiser Heads (5) £9.95 - Vaping Spares - Tanks & Accessories Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Huh. Here they are also available in 1.5 & 2.2
Kanger EVOD BCC 1.5ml : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I managed to get my grubby little hands on a 1.8 coil; it works great for my coffee juice! It vapes a little hotter than the 2.2 I was using, but not enough to impart a burned taste. IMO, much better than the (stock) 2.5ohm coil.

I'll be buying more 1.8s and 2.2s in the future, provided I can figure out how one of my two EVODs turned into a self-draining clearo. :glare:

ETA: I have not tried it with a fruit flavor, but I can see how it might be too hot for some things.

Yep, I just ordered 10 - 1.8 coil/heads Friday past, mail tracker says they'll be here this afternoon about 4:30.

When they get here I'll immediately check all 10 for Ohms and that they'll work. They're from GV.

Nice, I'll be interested to see where they actually clock in at since I have the same ones from GV.

Well the mail got here about 3:30PM New Mexico(MDST). The results semi-SUCK.

Here they are, checked twice, once on my Lava v2, and my wife on her Provari.

As you know they come in 5-pack blister packs.

Box 1: (in Ohms) 1.9, 1.9, 1.9, 2.2, 2.3

Box 2: (in Ohms) 2.0, 2.1, 2.7, 2.0, 2.1

I ordered these under the 1.8 Ohm heading, none turn out to be such. I can see a 10% variation as being reasonable which would range roughly from 1.6 to 2.0 Ohms. So, as I see it, I have 5 that are OK and 5 that are out of Spec. They have crap for QC, in my engineer/attorney opinion.

I do not blame GotVapes for the 50% crap variation, the fact is GotVapes, nor for that matter the other vendors, pack these P.O.S.s.

But the vendors could ride the A$$e$ of the suppliers to turn out something other than this slop! Yes, I'm pi$$ed. I'll recoil and rewick the ones that are in excess of 2.0 Ohms, but it orally SUCKS that I have to do someone else's work that I already paid for. PITA. But they would say "Trust me". I say vai a fare in culo.

As they say "Caveat Emptor".

i use 1.8 ohm coils on my ego passthrough with the evod at 3.4v ego standard voltage and evod 1.8 ohm heads in my protank on my ego 1000mah twist at 3.6 volts to 4 volts depending on flavor

with the evod heads in the protank i get way bigger puffs better flavor and a way better draw than the standard protank heads. they last longer and have better flavor than the protank heads also and they are less hassle flooding and dry hit wize.

so 1.8ohm evod on my ego 1000mah passthrough at 3.4v with holy holy grail ry4 12mg 50/50 my all day vape

and 1.8 ohm evod head in protank on my 1000mah twist for fruit flavors, adjust to taste usually between 3.6 and 4 volts depending on fruit flavor and juice. vaping strawberry cooler 12mg 50/50 at 3.6 volts
