Long story short, the glue on my v1 control head came loose and the device basically broke in half.

I sent an email to joyetech asking for suggestions on what I should do and I found out some information that could help.

joyetech added a 3 month warranty from date of purchase so as long as you keep the box with the serial number and security code, you might be able to get a replacement.

I shipped out my broken unit today and I should see a replacement in about two weeks!

I thought joyetech had excellent customer service and the lady I spoke with through email was extremely kind. Her name is Emma.

Thank you Joyetech!!

Probably still quite a few V1's floating around. Some dealers missed the boat on specials or plain refused to lower prices and have excess inventory.
Sad thing is they are still trying to get premium for something that has been updated.

Yes, joyetech has been outstanding in working with warranty of their products. They seem to have a much better grasp of Western expectations than most Chinese companies.
Any new tech product can go through growing pains. It is how the issues are handled that counts.

I asked my friend if he knew about the issues on the eVic and he had no idea . Since he opened his shop nobody has complained to him about the glue coming apart except me. I guess I'm just too damn strong *rolls eyes* Good thing is I was able to grab the eVic + Pro Tank 2 + 2 juices at his shop for $100 flat with the homie hook-up. I think that was an awesome deal.

+1 again to Joyetech for their outstanding customer service. I am a very happy customer.

I'm surprised too, seems like we bought the eVic around the same time, I made sure that the vape shop had the V2 (it was at a not-so-good local B&M shop)...

I paid too much for my eVic, I wanted it right there and then, and wanted to make sure I got the unit with the two screws in the top thread plate...

Two weeks huh? What you gonna do meanwhile? I have a Provari 2.5 that i bought recently, but my eVic is still what i take outside my home daily (mini mode) since I haven't found a decent holster for my Provari...

The eVic is also what I use when I wrap coils, I can check it with my Provari, but the eVic is still, the most feature-rich device out in the market as of this writing...

:)

FYI the two screws aren't just in the top head plate, they go all the way through the control head to the bottom plate. If you look at the control head under a bright light, you can see the screw shafts on either side of the fire button.

Kind of the point. To lock everything together securely.

Very cool! I just held a flashlight up next to the control head, and shucky-me-darned, two posts along side the fire button. I love my eVic more and more each day. 36 smoke-free days now, thanks to this awesome device. Thanks for the info, rasmith!

Yea two weeks is a long time...ever since the vape broke I've relapsed back into smoking one pack a day. It's been terrible...I have this juice that tastes like watermelon juice and I've been craving it so bad haha.

I've considered a Provari but it's out of my price range. I've heard great things though. Personally I love the way the eVic looks and does compares to the Provari and I heard it only goes up in watts?? I use voltage so that's an issue too..

Thanks for the helpful information. I thought it was two screws attached to some other thing inside. I didn't know it went all the way to the bottom. That's great news.

Yeah, mine took a fall in the car with a tank on it. So it completely came out of it's socket. I used some Loctite Super-Glue Gel. BAM!

Fixed. No issues since. :2cool:

I was going to use epoxy to seal it shut tight but unfortunately one of the wires broke off as well :(

so I tried to solder it back on and failed miserably.

In a desperate attempt to fix it I emailed Joyetech and found out there is a 3 month warranty on them now!!

I have YET to see a thread anywhere stating that Joyetech has a 3 month warranty. I wonder how many people threw away their brand new eVics?
