First of all...thank you to all the ECF members that have helped us newbies find our way and become educated in the world of vaping! It's awesome to have such a large community of peers to support, educate and to have friends all over the world that are going through and have gone through the same transition!!

I have smoked 1-1.5 ppd for about 20 years. This past Saturday at 3 p.m., I finally had my last analog! I started vaping and of course I have my "nic fits" but a few puffs on my ecig and I'm good! The most difficult part of this for me has been what to do with my hands and not going outside to smoke out of boredom! I found myself smoking an analog and 2 minutes later, going back outside...ridiculous! I am an RN and obviously I know the health hazards of smoking and the impression it has on my patients but I think smokers are just flat out "hard-headed and stubborn"...lol...at least I am! ;) I wasn't planning to quit but I saw an ad for an ecig in a magazine and started researching it and it never left the back of my mind and then I kept smelling the smoke on my clothes and noticed how often I was smoking. Something had to give!

Most of my friends are social smokers, so it has never been easy for me to quit. Also, I was so used to smoking and it was just second nature to me that I didn't want to quit because it gave me an excuse to get away for a few minutes or what not. I live with 2 smokers and I haven't had the urge to pick an analog up, despite seeing the carton and packs lying around...I still have my ashtray on my back porch and lighters but I don't seem to notice them. I've even emptied others ashtrays...lol!

Well, here's to a new lease on life...a happy, healthy life at that! Now I have the challenge of choosing flavors...lol!

Congrats Longhorn RN! Stick with it, PV really helped me to quit. One thing I did early on that helped, was keep some stronger nic, just for use in the morning. I didn't smoke in my house, and that "morning smoke" during my drive to work was a pretty established ritual. Hey, we are addicts, after we wake up is when we've gone the longest without a cig.

Welcome and so glad your on your way. This has been a life changing process for me, and I
cannot tell you how much better I feel nowdays. It's been a short 8 months since my last
analog and I don't miss them a bit!! This site is awesome and I too express my deepest
thanks to everyone here, each chance I get.
Just wait till you get your real smell back....that is also "unbelievable" at what we were missing.
Good luck and keep us informed on how it's going.
