Hey phanie! Congrats on getting started! I smoked a pack a day for 10 years. I've been vaping for almost a month and have not been craving cigarettes even a little bit. Everyone is different, obviously, but I have had an amazing experience so far. It's improved my life in a lot of ways, ways that i didn't even predict. Good luck! This forum seems to be a great place to keep with the positive reinforcement!!

...I'm also one of those that schedule life around when I can smoke and it's meant that I've missed out on a lot. :p Smoking is a physical habit for me and, while I'm ready to give up the smell and health risks, I don't want to give up the ritual....

Anytime my DH and I quit I've raised heck. It's like your best friend accused you of something heinous, stopped talking to you, then suddenly died before you could make amends. The idea of quitting cigs literally scares me.

You'll fit right in here, and you're a perfect candidate for vaping. It is much easier than you think. Just keep at it, read this forum a lot, and experiment. Don't expect to save a lot of $'s in the beginning. You have to get the gear, and you'll make some mistakes with that. As you move up the food chain with equipment it becomes easier to resell, if you like.

I too bought my first starter kit from Zeecigs. That was 2+ months ago. Haven't looked back. Cleaned my truck out last week and found a half pack of analogs under the seat. I can honestly say they went in the garbage with no thoughts of lighting one up. You're going to do great and your going to love it. Right now I think it's all the great flavors that I crave not the nic. I also vaped constantly when I started. I've just recently noticed I've backed off abit and still love it. It was a 510 starter kit.

Welcome Phanie, I'm a noob here as well. Started vaping the beginning of March and haven't looked back at analogs. It was just a choice of going for it. Once you find a level of nicotine and flavor you like, it will be a cinch for you. You'll also have to find a level of vaping you like, deciding on flavor, throat hit and if PG or VG is the one for you. I know you will find you niche in vaping. Look to the vets here who have so much info to share and the experience. Happy vaping ;D

If your PV choice ends up frustrating or exasperating you, quickly, quickly cut your losses and re-invest in another outfit. Cignot.com cannot be more highly recommended from personal experience over and over. Libertyflights.com also.

Thank you, I certainly will.

I feel rather foolish; I emailed the supplier verifying the length of use of the kit. After the pricing he wrote, "Costs as much as two cartons but last much longer" and I took it to mean the included juice would last for two cartons. It doesn't; it's about a carton's worth. After poring over every page and thinking I understood everything, I'm miffed that I spent so much.

Again, I'm glad to buy elsewhere and keep up vaping but to say to my husband, "Honey, I need to buy another one" after I told him I researched it (as I did) might not sit well with him. Ay me.

Hello all,

My name is Phanie and I ordered my first eCig (from ZeeCigs.com) yesterday. I came across his videos months ago and it wasn't until recently that I had the money to buy (his prices are higher than most but I liked how much effort he put into his site and videos.)

To be honest, I'm climbing the walls waiting for my package to come in and I'm smoking analogs like a chimney (perhaps as a sub-conscious send off?) I'm hoping and praying that I can toss the 'logs completely- I've been a smoker for 7 years now. I'm constantly coughing, wheezing, and I can't sing like I used to.

Lately, the peer pressure has been getting to me (hence the change.) My husband has been smoke-free for three weeks now (the patch and anxiety meds) and I feel badly for him (including my family, neighbors, and my church family) whenever I smoke. I feel like I'm constantly surrounded by a stinky cloud of smoke (Pig-Pen, anyone?) but I LOVE THE HABIT. I just don't love the stink or the health issues.

I would love to hear about how vaping has changed your life and, more importantly, your health. I need some positive reinforcement, please, and good things to look forward to. What was your first week like?

Thank you all so much!

Phanie
Hi Phanie and welcome to ECF. I'm too watched Shawn's videos before I started I really enjoyed them he takes a very down to earth common sense approach. Then I found the forum and learned loads more.
DIYFLAVORSHACK.com - my first e-liquid purchase was from there. Dawn is amazing and has AWESOME flavors! Cotton Candy, Tiger's Blood, and Buttercream Frosting are my go-to flavors. I've only encountered a couple flavors I didn't like - but that's just personal preference.
  1. Mister-E-Liquid.com - MEL's organic juices are to die for! Try the Cherry Lemonade, Throwback Cola, or Peach Melba (just to name a few). If the tobacco flavors are your forte - he's got some nice flavors, too.
  2. VermillionRiverEjuice.com - Dave's eliquids are delicious! If you remember Fruit Stripe Gum - he has that flavor. OH YEAH. Mystic Cherry, Hard Lemonade, Kentucky Cherrywood....
Each of the vendors I mentioned are registered Forum Suppliers. Check them out!

Again - welcome to your new lifestyle and I hope that the PV works out for you like it has for me, my fiance, my good friend Betsy, my friend's 18yo sister, and so many others! :vapor:

Feel free to PM anytime if you have questions or just want to say HI.

Warm Regards,
Desiree C.

I give Vermilion River a +1. I haven't tried the other two yet. I also recommend giving goodeJuice a shot also a forum supplier (if you're not happy with anything Nick will do his best to fix it) and also Honeyville Vapor. Their juice is nice and clean tasting and their prices are pretty good too.

I have been vaping for a little over a month now, still smoking 'logs but cutting back a great deal, now that I've found my fave juice (V4L Green Tea 24 mg). That is the key for me. I've enjoyed trying many different flavors, but I reach for the Green Tea over and over, even over a cig. My last pack of 'logs is on the horizon. Be patient with yourself!

Hi there,

I've been vaping for a month now. I used to smoke around a pack a day. Breath is not yet back to normal, but the taste and smell is already much better.

First thing, try and buy good stuff, that won't let you down (bad material/liquids will get you back to analogs in no time)

I tried chinese juices, but quickly changed to US stuff . I like Halo a lot, Freedom juice is great for everyday vape and i like Tikki a lot as well (very oriental flavor). You should try and get a few sample packs from different companies.

One of the "issues" i encountered is that i still smoke a few analogs now and then (mostly when i'm out, i'm not used yet to getting stared at ;) ) and they really taste bad now that i'm used to e-liquids.

DawnOfTheDez[/B]. I'm also one of those that schedule life around when I can smoke and it's meant that I've missed out on a lot. :p Smoking is a physical habit for me and, while I'm ready to give up the smell and health risks, I don't want to give up the ritual.

This was pretty much exactly how I felt. I had quite a bit of anxiety over trying to quit. Smoking WAS my best friend, the one thing that had been there as a constant in my life for 20+ years. That is what brought me here where I researched and ready personal experiences for days and days (so much info here, it can be pretty intimidating).

I quit 04/11/2011. I finished my last analog from my last pack at 4:11 am- that was not planned but it's neat how it turned out. This has been the absolute easiest time I have had quitting. I was a little testy for a few days until I really got the hang of vaping, but it's been smooth sailing since then. You can do it!

Never fear, you are NOT ALONE in the "I overpaid for my first bit of kit" area. I've been analogue free 4 months now, and the $150 of hardware I got with my "starter kit and embellishments" (PCC, passthru, etc) I have discovered I could have gotten a RIVA or eGO kit that does everything I need for about $60.00 (which includes 4 attys - 2 reg and 2 LR, and 10 cartos), plus 30ML of juice.

Live and learn. At least the wife now has my KR808s to puff on 10mins a day when she thinks she needs a cig from "kid stress"! :) She gets terrible migranes from any "bad smells", so 'baccy always laid her out. Happily the nic juice has quite the opposite effect! :)
