We have not been given any other details at this point. I honestly don't think there are any design changes but I could be wrong. The weight difference will be very slight I would think.

I know what ya mean about school starting. My son starts back next Friday. Have to get that school shopping done sometime next week.

Wow, school starting the first full week of August? That is early.

About the Wetbox. As I said at the beginning of that post, I really wish I could ask the question of the designer of the product since it really is more geared for that person vs. you, the reseller. I did see your comment about needing to squeeze every 3 or 4 vapes so I know I'm not doing anything wrong. Also tried the fillerless soft cap carto idea but didn't care for that. I still needed to squeeze every few vapes and the metal shell got very hot to the touch. So I'll stick with a normal carto and learn to squeeze more.

I do appreciate your responses to my questions and I'll be keeping an eye out for those CE2 401 and 808 cartos.

I hope it is OK to post here, as it seems the most recently updated area regarding Vapor Junction, and you did ask for current comments and suggestions. If you don't mind, I also have a few simple questions, and I hope you will forgive if they sound naive...

You see, I am a complete noob as regards the Riva, which I just ordered and received, and must first say: WOW! I am LOVING IT! Thank you so much for the great, fast service, and for throwing in a couple of extra goodies for my first time order...

I have been vaping since April, 2009, so I am not a vaping noob, just a Riva noob. I have used 901's exclusively for 16 months, and also a Little Chuck (with the 901 atty) for the last several months. Guess I am one of the old dinosaurs still using the 901, but it has always been good to me, even with the short battery life, and the new atty problems. And the Little Chuck is very special, with my custom design, and is great for home use, but it is quite a heavy brick to carry around, etc.

Enter the Riva, and I am in love with vaping all over again. For me, it is a perfect cross between the little 901 and the heavy Chuck. And I must say, though it has only been 48 hours, the vape quality/quantity is fantastic, the battery lasting wonderfully, and my homemade juice tasting great! Consistancy rocks!

And so I have a few basic questions, as there seems to be no FAQ that I can find on the Riva:

The Black Riva kit I received has 2 atty's and I am believing that they are 510's. Is that correct? I also think they are both "regular" 510 atty's as you sent along a LR 510 atty to try out, and it is marked "LR." Correct?

In order to use 901 atty's with the Riva, I must purchase the 510>901 adaptor, correct? I have a load of 901 atty's, many that I have cleaned and am still using, so it would be nice to be able to use them with the Riva, at least for a while longer. But I have a hunch that I will begin switching over to the 510's, as I HATE the new version of the 901 atty's with the washer-like plate. For me, they are inferior, they leak terribly, and they don't last. Anyone else have that experience?

I guess what I am asking is: Do people find the 501 atty working as the best combo with the Riva battery (and probably with new, more powerful battery that will be coming out)?

Do people find the LR 510 a better choice with the Riva? I read somewhere that it may shorten the battery life or cause problems. Has anyone else experienced this?

And now, Cartomizers! Never tried one, and I was sent one 510 carto and some blank 808D cartos. I am trying to learn up a bit on these, as to filling and refilling. I saw a method where you fill the carto condom half to 3/4 full with your juice and then press the carto down to absorb. Will that work, or do I need to syringe?

Cartos do seem interesting as an alternative for higher juice capacity, a disposable option so that I don't have to go thru the hassle of cleaning atty's so often, or at least as a backup on the road. I do prefer the whistle tip of the 901 cart, along with the pyramid teabag filler, but I am certainly open to trying the round-tipped carto if you could offer a little guidance as to the care and feeding of the monster...

Also, on atty cleaning: I tend to use the Crest Pro-Health Mouthwash method, and have alot of success with it. Is it OK to use on the 510 atty's?

And finally, at the end of the night, how do people set their Riva? Upright/assembled, upside down/assembled (that's what I did last night), take it apart (a bit of hassle), laid on its side? What are people finding is the best way to prolong th atty life, especially since I use a pretty heavy, part VG, medium-dark colored juice?

My apologies for so many long-winded questions, but a big Mahalo (thank you) for answering them if you can...

And finally, a big shout out to Alex for such fine customer service and professionalism. It seems you have made a Riva convert out of me, and have allowed me to find my vaping sweet spot!

You have also made a repeat cusomer out of me, as I plan for a second black kit at your sale price when they arrive, along with some extra stuff to keep me in Riva Heaven...

Aloha from the islands,
Kona

Wow. Where to start. Let's jump right in and say thanks for the compliments even though I have no idea who Alex is lol.

The Black Riva kit I received has 2 atty's and I am believing that they are 510's. Is that correct? I also think they are both "regular" 510 atty's as you sent along a LR 510 atty to try out, and it is marked "LR." Correct?

Yes and Yes. The atty's that come in the kit are standard 510's. I did send you a LR 510 to try and yes it's marked LR on the outside of the atty.

In order to use 901 atty's with the Riva, I must purchase the 510>901 adaptor

Yes, that is correct. However please take note that our current 510 > 901 adapter is designed for atomizers only. Even though the threading is the same as 808D-1 it will not work with cartomizers as there is no vent hole on the adapter. We sell this type because they are very small adding very little to the height of the atty when attached.

ut I have a hunch that I will begin switching over to the 510's, as I HATE the new version of the 901 atty's with the washer-like plate. For me, they are inferior, they leak terribly, and they don't last. Anyone else have that experience?

I agree completely. I am a huge fan of the 901 and do not care for the new style DSE 901 with the washer. Also take note of our new LR 901 atties. Old style, no washer ;)

I guess what I am asking is: Do people find the 501 atty working as the best combo with the Riva battery (and probably with new, more powerful battery that will be coming out)?

Yes, No, Sort of lol. The Riva was originally designed for and uses the 510 connector so people generally stick to using the 510 on them. However that isn't always necessary with the use of adapters, etc.

Again, take note that there is a 901 version of the Riva. We should have these in stock sometime this coming month.

Do people find the LR 510 a better choice with the Riva? I read somewhere that it may shorten the battery life or cause problems. Has anyone else experienced this?

They will drain the battery a bit quicker so you are in fact exchanging a bit of batter life for better performance. If you like the LR atties that is.

People fill cartomizers all sorts of ways, drip fill, condom method, etc. However I personally feel that using a syringe to fill the quickest, easiest method there is. Just fill up several first thing in the morning or late and night and your good to go.

Also, on atty cleaning: I tend to use the Crest Pro-Health Mouthwash method, and have alot of success with it. Is it OK to use on the 510 atty's?

That's perfectly fine and won't hurt anything. However good hot water is really all you need.

I honestly don't think it matters. I set mine upright on it's end but a buddy of mine just throws his down wherever and however. I have not found that it hurts anything one way or another.

Glad you are enjoying your Riva and please don't hesitate to post, email, or call with any questions you may have.

Thanks

Jeez, so sorry about the Alex mixup. And here I have your business card sitting right in front of me (BTW I have already given one away). Duh! But I will still follow the Forum rules, which say to use screen names, not real ones, I think.

So, major THANKS, DeXTeR, for taking the time and supplying the info (and for your great business). Much appreciated. Now I will have to just do some experimenting with the two kinds of atty's, cartos, etc, and see what seems to fit me best.

One more question: Can the LR 901 atty's be used on the regular auto DSE 901 battery? How about the KR808 (250 MaH) battery? I think I read that LR atty's can only be used on higher MaH batteries..

Just curious, but I think I will be sticking with the Riva battery setup for the foreseeable future... That will allow me to experiment with a variety of atty's as well as the cartos...

Thanks again,

I will try but we get so many request to let people know when something comes in. The best way is to create a free account at the store VaporJunction.com and be sure to put a check in the box for the newsletter. We send out stock updates and new product updates. We only use the email system for those sendings.

@ Kona,

lol, np and you can use real names as far as I'm aware. Travis will be fine or DeXTeR either one. My wife calls me everything in the book so I will answer to just about anything.

You really should stick to batteries 400+ mAh with anything LR so standard batteries are not recommended. Sorry.

I am not sure what got into everyone today lol. We had plenty of stock as of last night but it has been one heck of a day. I will be all night placing orders to restock the LR 510's.

We will eventually be selling the 510 pass-thru's. We just have to find one that we like well enough that doesn't have the in-line battery. We have been looking though.

Thanks

We placed an order last night and have standard 510's, LR 510's, and more 901's coming in.

In the CE2's we have standard 510 and 808D-1's coming in as well as XL 510, 401, and 808D-1's. These are the ones that fit well on the eGO, Riva, and the V-GO.

We can't wait for these to come in. All latest revision, all ceramic cup. They now come with instruction card for filling and 1 filler tube. Not the syringe but the tube.

Time for a nic overload with all the playing around and testing to be done.
