Experiences

Hi all,

Was just wanting to know what experiences any of you have had. I guess so that I can just feel a bit normal. Now this could be that I'm just not well anyway but so far I feel like my mood is a bit crazy (yes I know I'm a woman but it's more crazy than usual). A tiny bit of being short of breath, heart racing a bit more than usual and finally a bit depressed. Thanks in advance for any reply's.

I'm new here, but not to vaping. I've been using some of the higher end stuff for about a year now and thought I was fine using 6mg/mL juice until I got the new Atlantis. This thing kicks hard and I found myself having to sit down and take a break. I got nic'd out within minutes.

Every setup is different. You might be getting more nicotine than you can handle right now. You could dial it down a bit with a lower concentration of nic or you could try to stick it out and get used to it. Personally - I would dial it down. I used to vape 18mg and now I'm at 6 in everything. Probably go to 3mg pretty soon.

Hi all,

When I first switched to vaping after smoking for 37 years, well it was an experience. I smoked one or two cigarettes a day the first few days and then a bit more for the next few. After two weeks I gave away my last smokes. I had cigarette pangs for weeks and vaped a lot to get through them. Doing that with 18 mg juice sometimes made me a bit nauseous and had my heart racing like you are experiencing. I don't think I got depressed that I remember, but it was definitely stressful and that comes out different in people. I was really pleased that I was not smoking anymore though and that helped me a lot.

After a couple of months I dropped my nic level to 15 mg and that ended most of the over-nic symptoms. The pangs also got fewer and less intense over time and the stress level went down. I have now not had a cigarette for 2 1/2 years and I don't vape nicotine any more. That monkey is gone now and it's great.

You're not alone :). This does get better and though it's only been about a week or so for you, you're well on your way.

Hang in there and keep asking questions :thumb:

I have (or better yet, my wife has) been dealing with the crazy moods but they are starting to go away. I'm only 2 month in but I am also dropping my nicotine level which seems to be helping with the mood. I notice with 24mg nic that I do start to feel ill but not so much with 15mg and below. It can't hurt to try the lower nic to see if that helps you.

I was crazy and erratic and angry. I felt like crap after 8 hrs of no analog.
I had to up my nictotine 12 mg wasn't enough, now IV had two analogs, morning and night. I will drop one more in a few days. I'm on 18 mg now, perfect for me.
If I take too much nic I get close to the same feeling as withdrawal. I'm glad I kept trying. I quit cold turkey for a year and a half for my babies. I was nothing less than a witch, vaping has been a god send. Much much happier, but tweaking everything takes patience. Tension tamer tea helps tremendously for things like dinner time which is stressful. For me getting ahead of my weaknesses and troubleshooting has been the key to success. Good luck!

Not having any problems....well no more than the usual. You new to vaping? Sounds like you might be overdoing it, maybe the nic level is a bit high for you?

I agree. Sounds like your nic level is too high. Try a lower mg. And don't take the depression lightly. It can be an illness...nothing to be ashamed of. I deal with it every day. Just sayin'.

Need a bit more information. What did you smoke and how m
uch? When did you start vaping? Do you Vape and smoke analogs?

What are you vaping? What nicotine strength? Are you chain vaping or just now and again through out the day?

Would like to be able to help you out, don't give up - it could just be down to withdrawal from the myriad of other toxins that are in cigarettes.

When we smoked tobacco, we got nic but we also got other alkaloids with psychoactive properties. Our bodies learned to depend on an array of stuff to be balanced. When we switched to vaping we only got nic. There's no fiberglass or urea there to boost the absorption. It is my belief that this is a challenge to be faced at the early stages of the switch. Following that would be vapors tongue which causes your ejuice to seem flavorless as your taste buds regenerate after being put to sleep by the tobacco smoking. They are only temporary hurdles and will pass in one months time so long as you can put one foot in front of the other one day at a time without regression to tobacco smoking.

You may want to look into "WTA E-juice". That stands for "Whole Tobacco Alkaloid" and involves using actual tobacco leaves as a sort of tea dissolved in e-juice. Some folks report that the additional alkaloids provide the calming factor they once found when smoking tobacco. Vaping requires a lot of experimentation to find your personal best experience. That's the drawback and the advantage all at once. I've been at it for years and still enjoy looking for new gear and flavors but I can say there was a turning point way back when vaping went from all experimental to something I could depend on. Just keep playing (and coming here for support). Best wishes to you.

I used to smoke rolling tobacco (GV smooth) but I didn't really count how many of them that I was having a day but it worked out around 12.5g a day. On the times that I had the money to smoke actual cigarettes then I could smoke between 20 and 40 (pall mall or chesterfield and maybe Marlboro red as a treat). I am beginning to think that I've maybe went a bit to high with the e-juice which is at 2.4mg. I just assumed that I would need a high one to start with. If anyone has an idea of what I should be using I would very much appreciate the advice.

I already suffer from depression but it just seems to be a bit worse just now. Going to put a new order in for e-juice soon and lower the nic.

The nic thing in e-cigs is a difficult one. For one thing, there is no direct correlation in e-cig nic and analog nic. For instance, we can't really say how many puffs from an e-cig you would need to match one analog. I think the nic strengths we see in eliquid are a result of the old e-cigs that used disposable cartos. They had 1mL of liquid in them. So they made the nic strength reliant on 1 mil of liquid (6 mg per 1 ml, etc.). The idea was that one ml of ejuice was supposed to be equivalent to one pack of ultra-light (6mg), light (12mg), or full flavor cigs (18-24 mg). The problem with that is we don't know how much nic the body actually absorbs with e-cigs like we do with analogs (and their decades of research).

I smoked ultra-lights (now called "orange"). My cig package said that the pack contained 10mg of nicotine. So that means I would need to vape 1ml of 12mg juice to be about equivalent to a pack of my old analogs. However, it doesn't "feel" equivalent to me because I don't think we absorb as much nic from vaping as we do smoking. I can down 1 ml of e-juice in an hour or two, but I never smoked a pack of cigs that fast.

So, I would say step down a nic level and see how you feel after a day or two.
