hi guys.. pretty new to vaping, so far lovin it:)

so far I m using mech mods mostly(have a Provari too), but finds the battery life insufficient. used to be heavy on the analogs.. now heavy on vape.. when I m at work a 18650 only lasted me like an hour or so b4 I notice a voltage loss and need to change to a fresh one..
been thinkin for a while now on whether to try a 26650 mod or a double 18650 regulated mod for more vape time when I m out..

what do u guys think?

What sort of build are you running?
Have you checked you voltage drop? You could be losing lots where you don't want to.
What voltage are you swapping at?
I get over a day with my twin 18650 mech mod, but I use a 2 ohm coil and the batteries are usually about 3.6V when I swap out.

What I think is that dual 18650 mods are fine if a bit heavier, but I would never use a 26650 because I have seen what happens when they vent.

Either would arguably give you more battery life, just depends on the mods you're looking at and their performance/specs/features/visual aesthetic/etc. What are you running on these 18650's, because burning through one of those in an hour is quite quick. Are these batteries old at all? After so much use, they can tend to wear down and not have the same capacity as they did fresh out of the package. If you let them get down too low, they can also start to charge poorly, as well.

Only an hour? You must be a chimney!
Double 18650 will certainly last longer; but so far all the dual regulated mods I've seen are using stacked configuration so if you go that way you'd want to pay attention to the pairing of batteries.

When I'm at home I vape of a dc adapter with a modded cable mostly.

Oh wait! You said you have a Provari too!
You can order a plugin passthrough from Provape if you are stationary when at work:

thanx all for the replies.. :)

I run like 1-1.4 ohms for most my builds.. as I m quite new to vaping, most of my batts are quite new too.. 1 thing I notice abt vaping is that when I used to do analogs, I do like 2 then I stop, but now I vape for like 10-15 mins a time..?!
as for nic lvl, I m currently on 6 or 12 mg..
as for the Provari I find it a bit long when I use the 18650s.. so I use them at home with 18500s.. more handy..
so should I try to run with higher ohm builds? say 1.5-2ohms? would that helps

I notice voltage drop too. It's when the battery drops from it's slightly overcharged state of 4.2v down to the normal operating range of 3.7 volts. Then it stays there for three or four hours before needing to be changed.

The next time you get "noticable" voltage sag, can you pop the battery into your ProVari and tell us the voltage amount remaining for us?

I wanted to replace my cigarette smoking, for which I smoked about one per hour. So, my e-cig nic level needed to match. That is where I put my nicotine level. Also, I kept my vaporizer out of my immediate line of vision and went by urge only. I looked for a once per hour urge.

My initial, and further on, reason to vape was to quit smoking. Nothing else had that priority.

I have multiple batteries, I keep a spare battery in the car and a charger.

thinking you were using the pos 10 amp 18650, frak, their 18490 will out perform that travesty. lmao. When pushing max amps, no matter the device, a high amp continuous will always out perform, and out last. It's a bunny kind of thing:lol:

Sold my P 10 months ago, me current reg's are the T6, T8, and Sigelei 100 boxes. everything else, it's a mech. :D

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!!

The first thing you could do to help. Get you nicotine level up. I started 5 1/2 years ago. I started at 24 mg and still it was tough, even jumped to 36 for a couple of weeks , then back to 24 and stayed there for several years. I have just in the last year been able to start cutting back and am now at 14.

I saw a chart somewhere that showed the levels in your blood after smoking and vaping. At 18 mg eliquid, it took 65 minutes of vaping to reach the same blood level that could be obtained by smoking a cigarette for 5 minutes. This below I just copied from Web MD.

These results suggest that all electronic cigarettes are not the same. More advanced e-cigs may be significantly more effective in helping smokers quit and helping them to stay off smoking. But even these types of e-cigs, with 18 mg/ml concentration juice deliver a relatively small dose of nicotine. Some smokers may require more effective nicotine delivery than this, and maybe higher nicotine concentration juice to help them switch from cigarettes. These results also suggest that yesterday's proposal from the European Commission to limit the maximum concentration of nicotine in e-cigarette liquid to 20 mg/ml was a mistake. the smoker got from one cigarette in 5 minutes.

Back when I was using 24mg I was going thru 3ml/day. When I dropped to 18mg I jumped to 5ml/day and of course used up more battey power. When I got back down to 3ml/day I cut back to 14mg. When I get down to using 3ml a day again, I'll cut back again. At the nic. level you are at, you may not ever get up to the level you would have with one cigarette per hour.

I agree with what a lot of people said... I think your happy vaping limit is 4.2 volts, and you're swapping early in the battery's cycle. I'd probably get a 30+w device and set it to where you like it. I think you'll notice the batteries last longer. People's suggestion on getting a pass through is a great idea if you're at a fixed location. maybe keep your Provari as a "away from desk" vape and go corded.

hi.. I think you and a few others could be right on the voltage coming down to the operating range of 3.7v.. will be doing the test using the Provari when I can..
