Extreme nano build hot spot issues.

Wrapping 30ga Kanthol around a .4mm sewing needle 17 times. She get's really hot, really fast, but even freshly juiced I'm getting really bad hot spots after about 1 second or so. When I dry fired it, it was working great. What causes the hotspots? Weakness in the wire? Or am I just trying to push this Kanthol too far?

EDIT: juice directly on the coils keeps this from happening for a few pulls.

Are you wicking inside the coil or outside?

With a coil that long, at such a small diameter, the wick just can't keep up and the center dries out incredibly quick would be my guess, assuming the wick is inside the coil.
