I've been interested in a P10 for some time now, but hesitated to order because I hadn't been thrilled with mods I've tried (mostly due to size) and, despite the problems with them being unsealed, I really like auto batteries because pushing a button was always a distraction for me.
Then I saw a P10 for sale in the classifieds a couple of weeks ago and I just couldn't resist giving it a whirl, and I'm so glad I did.
This is the most expertly designed, elegant mod I've ever seen and the bottom button is so perfectly devised that it's almost like not having a button at all.
I had watched a Grimmgreen video where he mentions that he found himself having a problem using the bottom button because he would have to rotate it in order to get his finger placed inside the cutout to push the button. But if you're female (or a guy with small hands, I guess
) it's a non-issue...I'm not even aware that there is a cutout and the button is so easy to push that it's just becomes a part of the action of picking it up.
I guess you could call it a blonde moment
, but when I first got it, I assumed the battery went in the bottom and was confused when the battery wouldn't fit. I actually had to go watch that video again to see that it unscrews from the top, but even knowing that, it's so perfectly constructed that I can't even see the seam without tilting it into the light at just the right angle.
I know, I'm just spouting a bunch of stuff most of you in this forum already know, but I'm not exactly a newcomer and have tried so many different models, yet I am in awe of the -aptly named- Precise.
I know there's a lot of people who don't like 10440 batteries, but the smaller size is worth the trade off of having to change batteries more frequently. Plus I'm using the IMR's which perform better than the regular ones.
But now I've been wandering around here a bit and I'm reading about a 14500 model which sounds like it might still fit in to the smaller size category I prefer and I'd like to see it alongside a p10 for comparison.
I'm sure there's a picture of these two together somewhere I've overlooked - if so, would someone point me in that direction?
