Fabulous & Burley (F&B) by River Bottom Fog Sauce (RBFS) available online at www.vapingwatch.com
The juice: Site description: "This is a mellow Burley with a mild vanilla infusion. The name comes from the description my Tobacconist used for this blend, "A fabulous Burley with mild vanilla." This is as close to true tobacco flavor you can get without lighting up."
The Hardware: Mechanical mod topped by an IGO-S with 1ohm micro coil of 28ga Kanthal, wicked with Koh Gen Do cotton.
Ratings are from 1-5 depending on where a juice falls in an attributes spectrum. Only the last rating, "overall", is based on 5 being the best. (For sweetness 1 equals very dry and 5 equals very sweet. For tobacco impact 1 equals very mild tobacco and 5 equals very aggressive and/or complex.)
Sweetness: 2. F&B has a light sweetness that is felt during the draw and exhale, and lingers a bit after. The vanilla infused into the tobacco provides the sweetness, complimenting the dry Burley tobacco. It's a smooth sweet, a perfect example of being pleasant but not at all distracting. It took several sessions before I realized that F&B is actually drier than I first thought. I don't think it matters if someone prefers dry or sweet tobacco vapes, the level here should work no matter someone's preference.
Tobacco Impact: 2. Air-cured Burley is commonly used in cigarettes, and has a familiar, unassuming flavor. The tobacco in F&B is mild and simple. It brings an analog feel to the vape, and can be thought of as a cigarette or mild pipe NET with complimenting vanilla notes. While there's nothing in the way of complexity here, it's still a pure and pleasing tobacco, with a light grassy note, and even lighter nutty and toasty notes. This mild and pleasantly sweet vape would be a fantastic introduction to those new to NET, and has the purity of flavor that veterans will appreciate.
Vapability: 5. So easy to vape, anytime and for a long time. I like pleasant vapes because they are easy to grab for, and F&B is extremely pleasant. There is a full, creamy mouthfeel right away that is followed by a lightly leafy bite of the tobacco on the exhale, a combo that provides a fully rounded experience. The flavor doesn't diminish at all during long sessions, making it attractive as an all-day-vape.
Flavor Accuracy: 5. Spot on vanilla flavored Burley NET. The vanilla is creamy, soft, and tasty. It perfectly compliments the tobacco, but isn't an afterthought. I taste both the tobacco and vanilla throughout the vape, but the way they play and mingle alters during the pull, inhale, exhale, and aftertaste.
Overall: 4. RBFS chose a tobacco that was expertly blended so the Burley and vanilla compliment each other, which has then been expertly extracted to bring that to vape form. F&B is a great choice as an intro to NET, for Burley and vanilla tobacco fans, cig and mild pipe fans, and those who like to have a pleasing, anytime NET on hand. The star of the show is the vanilla and the way the Burley compliments it, F&B won't work nor is meant as a complex or high impact tobacco experience. Not a masterwork for me, but an extremely solid and reliable NET. The Tom Hanks of the line.
