Hello fellow vapors! I smoked cigarettes for 18 years...that's more than 1/2 of my life. I like to live an active life style with outdoor activities and spending time in the gym. I began feeling the negative effects of cigarettes taking a toll on my health. I also lost my father to lung cancer when I was 17...I DO NOT want my kids to go through the same experience as I did. THANKFULLY, a good buddy on my ship turned me on to vaping about 4 months ago and I have remained smoke free... Thats approximately 2400 cigs not smoked, $600 saved, and a much healthier body and feeling! Happy vaping!

Welcome to the ECF and congratulations on kicking the habit :).

Once you have 5 posts you can start posting in other areas of the forum. Your shipmate that you are talking about, has already introduced himself in the Japan sub forum. By the way, can also click on any stopped smoking banner/ticket you see (like mine for eg.) and make your own. That you can also only do after a certain amount of posts.

Yeah I got two shipmates on this forum. Together we are building a better and healtier Navy...starting with our ship at least, lol

I too just started vaping this year, 03/2012 to be exact. My grandmother quit smoking cigs in her late 70's and she is now 96! As you can tell I love and admire her very much, but I grew up amazed by the smoke rings and such she would blow during chats with neighbors on our porch...so that is why I believe I started smoking clove cigs at 18 (ugh) then of course pipe tobacco and pot. Now in my thirties, I began to notice the effects of over a decade of smoking; however still want to socialize and blow rings myself. Vape is my answer. After 7 months cig and pipe free, I tried an analog only to be left disappointed. It was literally painful.

Anyhow, I started with an easy Kgo 600 mah, and liked it...until I went to a show in LA and found a vapor bar/e-cig lounge and tried the eGo-C twist variable. Very cool and I almost love it completely. (I occasionally experience some leakage from the button)

Nice! I've been in the Navy for 11 yrs now and have always been trying to get orders to Rota. I'm up for orders again in about 6 months, so will once again try for Rota. If I get the orders, it will be nice to know it is a vaping friendly location! Good luck on your continued new healthy lifestyle.

Continuing on here in Rota too brother! I've gotten a few of my friends stationed here onto ecigs, and they love it!

Congratulations to you too! As you continue to vape, you will try various mods until you find the right one for your needs. I too started with an analog type, but found myself right back to smoking regular cigartettes in a short time. Once I got introduced to to new types, I have been hooked and have had no desire to go back to regular smoking.

I started with the ego-C type and it worked well for me, but then I started getting introduced ne newer, better, bigger mods. A few friends have the Pro-Vari. It is night and day compared to my ego-c. I wanted to upgrade, but did not want to spend all the money for the Pro-Vari, so I opted for an Apollo. In my opinion, it is better than my ego-c, but still not close to the quality of the Pro-Vari. So now I find myself back on the market and willing to pay the extra cash for a mod that I know is high quality and will meet my needs and desires.
