Kanger (and all the rest) are quite happy to set up 'official stores' in countries of the world. They do this in the full and unapologetic knowledge that many people feel so intimidated by using independent stores (because of the fakes problem) they can then charge a premium (or ask full price, as it were).
One famous Chinese brand (which I'll not mention) named the #1 vaping store in the UK (now closed) as sellers of counterfeit products. This is how low things get..... THEY were supplying that store but couldn't admit it due to complex deals.

The thing to do is take a chance on a very well respected vaping store*, buy a pack of coils and then run the test to put your mind at rest.

*The stores recommended by the community are a safe place to shop. Best not to read the customer reviews of unknown/dubious stores on this.... very little value in that these days.

ECF will no doubt have a list as long as your arm. Shop around between those retailers.

I want to publicly thank @glointhedark and @daviedog for reading (and liking) my post.

It's a travesty what is going on.
Let's take a company we all know and mostly love. They begin with A and sound like something to do with ambition.

For 2 or more years, they sold genuine quality products through hundreds of stores for great prices. Then, one day they decided to set up a 'genuine' outlet in the UK. Immediately, the prices rocketed and people experienced in vaping and buying authentic hardware from independent vendors started recommending this shop on social media and forums.
Then came the reprisals for the existing sellers... rumors about counterfeit products and XYZ. Businesses now in jeopardy to exist let alone make profits.

What is it all about? It's about the money. That alone is hardly worth mentioning (as this is the business after all) but allowing people who previously sold your goods to suffer because the manufacturer wants a bigger slice of the profit pie? Really...

Regardless, the prices for everyone now have gone up across the board and we all suffer. Basically, we all lose. Use an independent vendor. Trust them to source genuine products and if they don't - put them in the spotlight for allowing vapers to be treated this way.

Maybe not directly related to the OP's question, but I spent AUS $124 + shipping for a kabuki tank for my provari.
There is currently no decent available rebuildable atomiser for this hideously expensive tank so I bought a cuppla 5 packs of the required genuine Aspire coils in the Kabuki order.

The first coil that came preinstalled in the kabuki lasted over a week until I started to get a horrible burnt flavour.

So I installed a new coil. The exact coil replacement recommended for this tank.
I get the burnt flavour after only a tank or two of juice now. Exact same juice, exact same wattage settings.

My point is that the aspire coils are genuine and check out with the manufacturers code etc as being genuine.
But they are obviously NOT as good as the first genuine aspire coil that came with the kabuki.

So maybe Chinese manufacturers like aspire and Kanger farm out their coil production to third parties and even though they come stamped with genuine product stickers they are a crap shoot as far as quality is concerned, and the "fakes" could very well be the same as the "genuine".

Lucky dip?

p.s. I've since bought a Kayfun 5 (clone) with a rebuildable deck so at least now I have complete control over coils/wicking and am back to consistency.
Just sayin' :D
