I stopped for dinner on my way home and pulled up to the window and was vaping in the dark of my SUV. The young man handed me my soda and when he handed me the bag he said, "Did I see something glowing purple?" I said yeah and showed him my 510. He said, "What is that? Oh, is that one of those e-cigarettes?" He wanted me to show him how it works so I took a couple of vapes (luckily I had just topped it off and there was lots of vapor). He then called over another guy and told him what it was and asked that I show him. The second guy was amazed too.

That's the first time a stranger has said anything about it. People at work have asked me about it. But then, I don't vape in public much except outside at work.

The irony in this thread's title made me think "fast food and a diet coke."

Back in my smoking days I pulled the "Vitamin Water and a cigarette."

when I was going to college I worked at a fast food place where the only diet soda was diet 7-UP. People would order burgers and fries and when told that the only diet was 7-UP they'd say, "Then I don't want anything to drink."

Inside I would be rolling my eyes.

On our local news a while back FDA ran their famous article finding of the ecig. Everybody I had shown the ecig to who was planning on switching told me after the findings they would not switch. It was very difficult to explain all of this to them. Most of them decided against the ecig.

Everybody just looks for the bad and if the FDA says it that it must be so.

Yes i'ts amazing how many sheeple there are.:-x I thought I had 2 people ready to start, was going to let them try all my mods, juice etc.. then both of them said no way not after what the FDA has said about them. I tried to explain but some people just don't want to hear it and or they are too lazy to check out the facts themselves. The government must know what's good for us...RIGHT???:grr::nah:

That is funny and I'm one of those people that drink diet coke with my 2000 calorie fast food.

My husband was a diabetic and it was just cheaper to buy one kind of cola (regular vs diet) to keep at the house. I just got used to the diet coke because that's all I had around. Now regular coke tastes like pure sugar.

It doesn't really have anything to do with the calories, it's the taste you get used to.:)

+1 It's even in their AD campaign "Just for the taste of it!" LOL

Seriously though, I also got used to it since everyone in my family(except me, thankfully) has diabetes.
It is an acquired taste and once you get it, it's fantastic! From what I understand diet coke is the diet version of the "new coke" formula they came up with and tried to market(not so well) in the 80's.
If you want diet "coke classic", reach for a Coke Zero.

Have a great day!

My wife does it for the caffeine without the sugar. Mountain Dew and Pepsi have to much sugar. When you see someone with an extra large order of grease with a side of lard and a large diet coke, they are most likely diabetic, and only drink the diet for the caffeine without the sugar.
