I just ordered the Vamo V3 7-in-1 Stainless kit from fasttech. It comes with 2 - 18350 batteries and a charger. My premise is that the batteries and charger are probably crap, but I'm hoping they'll get me started. Planning on getting some AW's in the near future, but have to wait on the vape budget to catch up. The question is, do I chance the kit batteries, or look into moving to AW's/Efest sooner than I planned?

Overall you should be very happy with it, mine works great!

Though, I'd cancel that order(FT will issue credit and you can place a new order) and spend the extra $7-8 and get this kit:

$58.85 Vamo V3 5-in-1 Variable Voltage Mod / E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Kit - stainless steel / Nitecore I2 US battery charger / 2*Sony 18650 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Better charger, better batteries, but no clearo (you'll want something besides CE's anyway)

What's the difference between the 5n1 vs 7n1?

EDIT!: Never mind, I just followed the link you posted and found the answer. For anybody else asking the same (dumb???) question; the 5-in-1 and 7-in-1 refers to the quantity of items in the offered kit, not functions of the device. The 7-in-1 kit comes with the Vamo V3, 2 extension tubes, a battery charger (with a Euro plug adapter), 2 - 18350's, and a clearo (7 items total in 1 kit, hence 7-in-1); and the 5-n-1 kit has the Vamo, charger, 2- 18650's, and a power cord (5 items).

They may not ship the Sony batteries, I heard they were out

I have heard tons of good about Nitecore, but they heard a few bad...YMMV

You will not be disappointed by the Vamo, I know I'm not

I got spare batteries from here
Genuine AW Batteries at RTD Vapor

Thanks for the link. I'll check them out as soon as the budget allows! I don't want to make the just a battery thread, but any other suggestions on batteries for the Vamo V3 besides authentic AW/Efest/Panosonic/Sony 18350/18650's IMR's?

FT names their kits by the # of pieces in said kit, ie 5-in-1 is Mod Battery compartment, Charger, Charger Cable, 2 Batteries (really should be called the 4-in-1, as the charger cable is part of the charger, lol).

Your 7-in-1 kit had Battery compartment, Charger, 2 Batteries, 2 CE style clearos (dirt cheap), and an adapter for EU plugs, you will likely never need.

With the kit i linked, you get a much better quality charger and what should be higher quality batteries. Seems the rule of thumb on ECF is avoid any batterys with the word "Fire" in the name.

Any IMR's should work, the Vamo has overcurrent protection...unless you crank the VW up to way high +10 watts you should be ok even with "cheapo" batteries...I run mine at 6-7 watts on 2.5Ω or higher and it doesn't skip a beat

Doesn't a vw device automatically kick up the voltage, including some (noted by Phil Busardo in his vids) over the the 6 v limit of the device, to try to maintain the desired wattage output? I'm just asking because I could see where a cheap battery could be maxed out really fast. I understand that the Vamo has a 5 amp switch to limit seriously smashing your battery. However, I think you've answered the question about if the cheapo's sent with the mod will work until I can get them replaced.

Hi there. I bought a vamo v2 recently at my local vape shop. It came with a generic charger and two 18350 batteries. The batteries crapped out on me after one day of charging. You are better off buying a charger and batteries seperatly. I was pretty upset because I spent 80 dollars on a kit that I already knew to be overpriced. Was stuck with lifeless batteries and a useless vamo. Luckily when I went back to complain, my batteries were traded in for one 2600 mah battery which seems to be working fantastic. Only issue is that it takes forever to charge. Looking at 10 hrs already. Get some backups.

you need a better charger, should be 3-4 hours tops.

i would say get the cheapo vamo only for around 30 on FT and but a decent charger and batteries elsewhere since they are having issues sending batteries
