Hi all, i have noticed a lot of people have had a problems with there HALO batteries i have three of them and two had stopped working so after having a mess with them i found that they have a little chip inside that cuts the battery out if activated to long in your pocket or over charged and doesn't seem to reset, all you need to do is get an old electronic lighter and take out the little zapper bit and zap the HALO once and bingo :p

Thanx for this most interesting tip Mark ! ... I've also just got me a couple of these batts a few days ago. So it's nice to know there's a quick fix solution. (Though I can't imagine how you even got around to figuring out this "zappig" would work ?? ~ Genius ! (LOL))
However, (even with the risk of sounding like a total "airhead") can you please elaborate a little on how exactly to go about this. (Sorry, I'm not too "electro' minded") ~ I've never actually pulled apart an electronic lighter, but I think I know what you mean about the "zapper bit". I'm presuming it's the bit inside that controls the spark for the flame. Which I imagine is probably not too hard to get at. ... My question is, does it matter where on the batt you "zapp" it ?? (i.e. what area is the chip situated ?) Or do you rather need to just "zapp" it directly at the atty "connector" point, sorta thing ???
Also you mention that this problem might arise from overcharging. (Or you mention they might have an overheating cut-off switch ?) ... Is overcharging usually not really a good idea for TorneGo/Riva/Halo batts as a general rule ??? ... I ask this, because I've got a nasty habit of usually leaving my batts on the charger overnight etc. ~ Would you say that I shouldn't really be doing this ??? Does overcharging actually damage the life of batts (or even charger ?) generally ?? Or is this particular to just these Halo batts mostly ??? ...
And ... Cheers, Thanx in advance for your help ~ Much appreciated !
