Kraken is good, but all dual wick Gennys leak on me.
Single coils dont

Now that I think of it, the best buy in the Genesis side is the Silver Dog Hybrid.
You can still find the V1 without the bljng engravings if you want.

For $95 you get the Hybrid system.

Cheaper than the DID, and you get a great hybrid mod, genny included. I have had it for a long time and I still use it for my at work vape at least two or three times a week.

I like my different gennies for different reasons. Some I like simply because they're different.

If I was to pick one and give up all the others, I'd keep my Kraken. Its just a nice, simple, well built "gennie done right"- gennie. No bells and whistles - unless you consider AFC as such.

I use mine with a single wick. The other wick hole is closed off with a grub screw. Fill hole is plugged with the nozzle from an eliquid bottle. Lets air in but not liquids out.

Not sure how it compares to the DID as I've never tried one. Always wanted to just haven't gotten around to it.

As every gennie is different to the point where it's mainly about personal preference, I say it may be more important to find out which gennies are considered bad than look for 'the best'.

My other gennies, which I would sacrifice to keep my Kraken if must be... They don't give a bad vape. They just have other minor issues than makes me deduct a point or two. Like the TNS not having easy access to the coils... and an unnecessarily large wick hole. Or the EA Nebula having an annoying top cap/AFC design and is prone to break its negative post. Or the Svarog having a tight-ish draw with somewhat whispy vapor production. Or the Sat22 having such a small chamber it muds up some of my flavors. Which I'm sure some sees as an excellent feature.

I don't think any of these are bad atties. Not at all. They're all in daily rotation in some way or other.

I tried your single wick setup on the Kraken.
Dang good, and it stopped the dual wick leaking problem.

I still have to give the DID the edge, however.
The main reason is the screw on top. That is a biggie to me.
The second is that the DID produces more vapor than the Kraken in single wick ( dual wick vapor production goes to the Kraken)

The last reason is small enough to perhaps be just bias. Flavor production seems better on the DID.

All in all, given the cost of the DID, and lack of decent cloned DIDs, not sure if it would be worth the cost of buying one if you already have a Kraken

Edit

One other thing about the single wick config on the Kraken-it solved another issue I had with the Kraken - the fact that it went through more juice than my sub ohm drippers

That's good stuff!

Would certainly pick up a genuine DID if it came to that. I have a couple of Nanos and a TNS from MMVapors, so I don't doubt their greatness.

If I'm not entirely mistaken, the DID is also considerably cheaper than the Kraken? Which would add another couple of points in my book.

Screw-on cap is almost a thing of the past... which is sort of a shame.

I have two DID's, as I needed one to flush fit my 20mm Super T's, an the other for...well, all the other mods.
The only gripe I have is the size of the atty. Gennys tend to be long anyways, and the DID is longer than most of them.
I have noticed the same thing as you about the whole screw on cap thing. Such a simple thing that makes all the difference.

How is the Nano? It comes in 16mm doesnt it?
I have been waiting forever for a Piccolo or another 16mm Super T.

My Spheriod needs another ride :)

Haven't seen the Nanos in 16mm. AFAIK it only comes in 22 and 22.6mm.

I think it's pretty great, but I wouldn't trust the locking mechanism to hold 100% of the time in a pants pocket.

Don't know much about ~16mm mods I'm afraid. I tend to favor the shorter ~22mm mods. Current favorite 'stealth' setup is a Sat22 clone on a Nanos. I may be straying off topic simply to justify a picture. :p

I'm not the biggest brass fan. I just enjoy playing around with the various extensions and stuff. The middle SS section is actually from a Nemesis clone :D

I didnt even know the Nano came in brass.

For the price I am going to order one. After looking, it was one of the Greek modders that made the mod that came out around the same time and price as the Nano. It was Gus, I think.

MMV makes some very good stuff. In my opinion, the top three in terms of making a beautiful product to exacting specs is GP, Super T, and MMV, in no particular order.

Another thing that I learned about the Kraken. I just lost the refill hole screw.
So, trying different things, I found out that the airflow control screw for the Russian fits perfectly.
I never use them anyways

Also, I have to give a shout out to the red headed stepchild of the genny family - the Z Atty.

The worst thing about this atty is the top. Until you find just the right O-ring, the top cap will come off if you look at it wrong.

I finally found an O-ring that was very thick, but really too small in diameter. All the other o-rings were too thin, or way too thick.

The thing is, for some flavors, its just OK.
But then, other flavors are amazing in this thing. If it vaped everything as well as the ones it likes, then nothing could touch it.

Its for those flavors that you like, but are too strong to drip, and too cloying in a kayfun style atty.

Mints, menthols, anise, and chocolates come alive in the Z-Atty.

PS
I have two, and niether one had the center pin problem that I have heard about.

Niiiice.

I never would have thought that a green DT would look that good on a copper setup-Props to you

Give a cloud pic as well!

Edit:

Today's all day vape was my SS Kraken in dual wick mode topping my copper Skyline. Great minds think dang near alike

End of edit

Somehow I have scratched up the lens of my camera phone in the last day or two, or I'd donate a pic of my DID silver(i think its called Heavenly Cloud or something like it) on my Cali edition Poldiac.
Perfect match. Its always either got the DID or my tuggy on it.

We have to keep this Genesis thread going :)

Gennys dont get enough representation on here
