I keep it pretty simple, I haven't tried any sonicdragonsupernanoturbo coils yet; 8 wraps of 28 gauge, 1/16" drill bit, cotton wick. I get right at 1.2 - 1.3 ohms pretty consistently. And why? That was pretty much the setup on one of the first videos I watched on the Russian 91, and I'd been playing with micro-coils in my other rebuildables.
Just a suggestion but try an 8 wrap of 29gauge and 32 gauge twisted together on a 1/16th screwdriver/drillbit @ 1.2 ohms. It gives off amazing flavor, it really makes my flavors pop and you can taste crisp notes as well as having a very dense flavor and vapor. It is very good with fruit flavors IMO.
I have used the same build since I built my first coil. I use a vertical 5 1/2 wrap around a 1/16" bit w/ a rolled organic cotton around the coil 1 1/2 times. Comes out to .8 ohms every time and has amazing flavor and vape production. I figure, if it isn't broke, why fix it. I don't need anything more right now, but seeing that I'm ADHD and always need to change things, I'm sure I will try some other build when this one "no longer fits my needs"
I'm starting to make the dive into RBAs (R91 clone on order) and was thinking this very same thing. 28 gauge, 30 gauge, 2.0mm silica, 3.0mm silica, ekowool, cotton... lots of variables. Figured I would ask around and not "reinvent the wheel," then I saw this thread.
