I keep the u's out of my favorites :p

mines 1.2-1.6 ohm 28 ga single coil, or same for dual (net .6-.8ohm) around 3/32.
for cloud chasing I do .3 24ga dual coils around 5/64 or so.
I'm mostly using mechanicals, but the 28 ga builds do great on my hana clone too.

I use japanese cotton (Puffs organic japanese cotton pads on amazon - 200 sheets for like $10) a lot - or ReadyXWick from RBA supplies. The cotton is nice, the RxW is better because it seems to give off no flavor of its own and is much more heat resistant. I use a REO (bottom feed dripper) and dry burn & rinse after 6-12mls of juice. I change out my cotton every 12-24mls depending on the juice & build (some gunk up quicker than others)

Edit:
oh, and those are micro coils. all wrapped tight.

Simply out of curiosity; does anyone have reasonably results with good ol' cotton balls, spun out by hand ?

I've used them and they wicked just fine, but some people notice a cottony taste for the first few drags. I'm one of them, but I can taste all of the wicking materials I've tried. For cotton I used Cellucotton 100% cotton, which has longer fibers and I find easier to use. I alternate it with Cellucotton rayon. I can taste both, but it wears off fairly quickly.

I taste the same thing on organic cotton balls. Japanese cotton has a taste for the first 10 drops or so with most juices, but goes quickly. ReadyXWick I only taste when I torch it.. takes 20 or so drops to clear that flavor. Needless to say I rarely torch it, usually dry burning it is good enough to clean it up.
