I apologize if this post is superfluous considering the other FDA posts made so far but; is it safe to assume, if I were so inclined, I could buy more currently produced mods after this FDA controversy blows over, or do you guys also suspect that they'll be much harder to get?
I know the juice is a big ordeal but am less familiar with hardware regulations, thanks

All depends on what the final regulation contains. The "proposed" regulation would be as hard (if not harder) on hardware as it is on liquids.
Vaping hardware was still in the stone ages in 2007. Anything that was not already on the market before Feb 2007 would not be grandfathered in.
That would leave us with nothing but little 230mAh stick batteries, atomizers and cartridges. (so get out the tea bags and blue foam)

Hardware is just hardware. Worse case scenario you can make your own. The 'juice' is the active ingredient that you can't make yourself (liquid nicotine). Nicotine is the reason that the various governments can tax tobacco products at the 'sin tax' level. Nicotine is why we have all of these 'anti' organizations such as cancer societies getting their donations and nice salaries. Nicotine will be easily identified, vilified, controlled, and taxed!

That's my general take on it, too -- which is why I'm stocking up on nicotine and starting to learn DIY ejuice making -- and nutz to the teabags and blue foam, whatever those are for; I have 2 rebuildables and another on the way, so I think I'll be ok on toppers; also planning to stock up on punched single-coil cartos, so my Smok UDCT will still be usable. I just need to get a mech, so that IF the FDA goes completely nuts and hardware is hard/expensive to get and IF (when!) my electronic PVs fail, I can still vape, with something a bit easier for an electrical-novice to maintain. No plans to EVER go back to cigalikes, whoever ends up controlling that market.
