There are plenty of things that they "should" do.

I would love to see them actually justify keeping analogs on the shelves while trying to ban e-cigs. A side by side comparison.

I would also love balanced news time for the positive stories on E-cigs... But that is why I no longer watch the news. Freedom of speech for them means what will get the most viewers scared and paranoid.... sorry for the rant been a rough night lol

I like the article, but very much dislike comments like this:

“However, I think the sort of level of analysis you need to think about is, How do people use them? So if people are mixing use between e-cigarettes and commercial cigarettes ... (and) still smoking five to 10 cigarettes a day when they get the opportunity, they are still ingesting a lot of harmful toxins into their body. "

The same thing happens with patches, gum, candies and lollipops. I've posted before that the FDA has acknowledged that dual use with NRTs is something that happens and is allowing labeling on NRT products to be changed.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy Labels May Change

When nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products were first marketed almost 30 years ago to help people stop smoking, there wasn't a lot of data available on how long consumers could safely use them, and whether they could be used in combination with other NRTs or continued smoking.

The changes being recommended by FDA include a removal of the warning that consumers should not use an NRT product if they are still smoking, chewing tobacco, using snuff or any other product that contains nicotine—including another NRT.

So, dual use with NRTs is OK, but not with vaping? Why the double standard? The ANTZ dual use argument needs to be shot down every time it's mentioned.

Dual Use
Mmmmm ....
E-cigarettes are a Smoking Alternative and NOT a Smoking Cessation device.
Soooo dual use is exactly the purpose for e-cigarettes. E-smoke to cut back
on smoking ... not designed or marketed as a smoking cessation.

THEY coined the phrase "dual use" in order to demonize and ridicule esmokers
on many many levels.

I'm off to find a quote from the directions on a package of NRT's that says users may continue to smoke while using the product. Will come in handy for rebuttal comments... oh, and a quote from the FDA revised recommendations that NRTs may be used for longer periods.

Dual use... Is that like beer and a shot?
