I'm sure someone more knowledgeable about the specifics will also respond.
Foghorn .... nicotine is poison.
In 100% form it is deadly and requires hazardous material handling.

There are ways to distill nicotine and if you are serious you can research those.
(heck I even looked up growing my own tobacco:cool:)

Yes - homemade juice is an option - both with and without nicotine
and
yes being informed and safe are imperative when one decides to work with high levels of nicotine.

I agree with you Fog, except for different reasons. I am not afraid of what may or not be in our juices..in what part per millisomething they tested. We smoked some rotten crap for all these years, it's kind of silly to worry now!

I can make my own fruit flavors and some others, just not the Marlboro for hubby. For me that's troubling, since HE is the one who needs to quit smoking NOW!

I know I can make my own nic, and I have see how to make my own tobacco flavoring..but will he vape it? Right now he is half smoking and half vaping. Premade is sooo much easier.

For the rest..I will forgo RY4 and 555 the only two tobacco based I vape and stick to what I can make..I really don't even need the nic anymore.

one thing worth mentioning, if you use nicotine extracted from tobacco, you will have the same nitrosamine/carcinogen situation that we have with the factory made eliquid, the nicotine gum, and the nicotine patch. The levels are lower than that of cigarettes, but they are there. Only reason I mention it is because some might think "make your own and eliminate all of the carcinogens".

And, of course, there's the hazmat thing like VoiceOfChoices posted, which should be taken very seriously due to pure nicotine's toxicity.

edit to add: from my understanding, Johnson Creek has switched to synthetic nicotine. As far as I know, theyre the only eliquid mfg. that uses it.

Actually i'm on the same page. I don't think I need the nic as much as i once did. I think just making my own formula of VG and flavoring would do it for me. I'm glad FDA got hold of the e-cigs imo. I hope they regulate it. Then I think i would feel better about what pre-made juice I buy.
