Feeling off.....

I have been vaping off and on for about a year now, just haven't really stuck with it until recently. I officially started this past Saturday when I went out and bought a new device and found a liquid I really enjoyed. Everything was going just fine, the throat hit burnt a little and made me cough so I set my voltage down low to prevent that. Well, today I woke up just feeling all around weird. My throat is scratchy, every time I hit my e-cig it would burn and make me cough. I called around to a few local vape shops and they said it sounds like I have a PG sensitivity/allergy and recommended cutting my juices with some VG (picked some up at Target) and from now on do a VG based liquid. Not a big deal, I can do that. However, that is not my only symptom. Today, I just don't feel like vaping or smoking, but mostly don't feel like vaping. I have a slight headache, dizzy off and on, light headed, weak, a lot of mucus build-up (which has been going on for a few days but hasn't bothered me much), anxious (very very anxious), on the crabby side, eyes/vision feel off, and all around just don't feel right. I have no clue if it's the vaping, quitting smoking, or something else going on with me. I'm not going to vape for a couple of days and see how it goes. Basically, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Hey Veronnie,

Yes, I have had similar, especially the vision thing. I still get that now, when I vape too much in too short a space of time I feel like my vision is sort of slow (like being very drunk). It sounds like too much nicotine. Maybe you should try vaping less or cutting the nicotine level down.

Too high PG for me too causes the scratchy throat feeling, and 100% VG makes my chest hurt the next morning. I found that 50/50 works best for me, so I think it should get better for you if you just go down a nicotine level or two (12mg maybe?).

I hope you feel better soon.

Hey, hope you are feeling better. When I quit smoking I felt like crap, some call it smokers flu. The first time I quit I was just mean and hated everyone so I was surprised the final time when I felt so sick for a couple of weeks, I guess it's the toxins leaving your body. Check out some of the websites on what happens to your body when you quit, it sure helped me understand what I was feeling. I agreed you may be sensitive to PG and your nic may be too high, it takes awhile to find the right combo. Hang in there and feel better soon.

Other than the sore throat/mucous bit... all of the other symptoms you have -especially- that vision thing sound like nicotine withdrawal symptoms that I often had. All of those issues were what kept me smoking analogs because I HATED that feeling. It was really bad when I started vaping because I had only cut down on analogs, I hadn't quit them all the way. It sounds like you might have a mix of things going on there. There is a great thread on the forum that may help put your mind at ease but if you are concerned I would talk to a doctor <3

Welcome here,

I went through the exact same thing, with that being said, it will pass. Watch out for the nicotine levels...

I've had the anxious feeling a couple times lately too. I've decided it's because I've been cutting down on my cigarette intake so much and my body is craving something aside from nicotine. As for the headaches, I would say it may be because you aren't drinking enough water or possibly another side effect from not smoking cigarettes. The scratchy throat is something I've had off and on too, it seems like it has been allot less often since I changed most of my juice to a higher percentage of VG.

I'm pretty sure the sore throat and scratchiness is from the PG. However, I have been smoking a little since I started vaping. Maybe 4 cigs 5 tops a day (mostly in the morning and after meals) but the rest of the day just vaping. I was a pack and half a day smoker, so nearly 30 cigs a day. I'm going to look at some of the links others have suggested regarding the symptoms of quitting. I figured I would just get a cough and maybe a runny nose from quitting, since that's the body's way of cleaning the lungs and what not. Did not take into account all of the other 4,000 chemicals I have in my body from smoking running through my system, in which at least 70 of them are addictive and cancer causing. That would definitely explain the edginess and anxiety. Thank you all so much for your advice and opinions, it is greatly appreciated!! I was a little worried I wasn't going to be able to vape at all. I just don't want to smoke any more, I'm done with it. I'm going to play around with some mixes and figure out what works for me. I ordered some 100%VG w/ 12mg nic from Mount Baker Vapor. I shall see how that goes. Again, thank you all!!
