Brand new to the world of E-smoke after about the 35 years of cigarette smoking (or as those in the know call them, analogs!). And when I say brand new, I mean I haven't even seen an e-cig let alone handled one. For a change my timing was right, and I was able to take advantage of what was an apparently amazing deal on the Joye eGo at Pure Smoker's site for my first, too late to get the stainless or black, but still got a blue.

My question is whether I need anything else other than what I believe is marketed as a starter set. It comes with battery, atomizer, and atomizer cone, and I believe I'm getting two sample bottles and bought a tobacco flavored one. I've read posts that mentions 'carts' and wonder if I will need one of these for the eGo, of it's pretty much 'just add liquid and eGo'.

Obviously I can wait until it gets here and read the manual that comes with it, but, after emptying the ashtray and tearing the cellophane strip off another pack of analogs, I'm looking forward to diving right in.

Thanks!

Are you sure you didn't get this set? I just don't remember seeing a "single set" kit on puresmoker, but it is possible that I just missed it.

If you got the double-set (standard) kit I linked to, you should be pretty good for parts for a little bit. The one thing you'd need relatively soon is more cartridges, as you'll probably use a few per day (or refilled equivalent), and can really only clean them out & re-use them a few times. (Varies, of course.) But unless you get bad parts, the rest should last a few months. I'm not sure how much liquid you're getting, but a good general guideline is that you can expect to use ~3ml per day, though of course this varies too.

All in all, it's likely that you'll have enough to try it out for a couple days before deciding whether to order more supplies (especially carts & liquid). Unless you really did get a single-piece set, in which case you'll want to have at least one backup each of battery & atomizer.

I wouldn't go too far in ordering extra stuff until you see how you like it. There's a good chance you'll be happy with your eGo overall (I know I'm happy with mine), but there is still room for various preferences, such as carts (cartridges) vs cartos (cartomizers, a hyrbird of a cartridge & atomizer in one piece), or alternative methods like dripping (not dipping with an eGo without extensive modification).

If you seem to like using it when it arrives, I would definitely make sure to have a decent amount of cartridges (probably 10) and at least 30ml of liquid on hand as soon as possible. If you don't have that, order at least that much ASAP if you want to be able to continue vaping & not have to return to analogs while waiting on an order. After that, you should be pretty set to order when you run low, but not run out before you get a new shipment.

Good luck!

came w/ 5 filled carts. The avg. juice use is 2-3 ml/day so add the ml. up. A cart may be only 1/4 ml.

PS A spare atty is good to get later.

Do these carts come with the eGo kit (whether full or empty)? Is it an add-on that you screw in between the atomizer and the atomizer cone? Sorry for what are probably moronic questions.

I went and looked again at what I bought in my excitement last night/this morning, and it doesn't mention it comes with 'carts'. It does come with a sample of juice. Obviously on a Sunday evening, there is nobody there to ask now, but would it be safe assumption that it does come with the cartridges?
hmm can't assume anything. You will get 2 carts probably on the attys but they don't have filler, and you need filler to hold the juice in the cart.

I'll take a look at where you bought it and see if I notice anything.

I just looked and I didn't see carts listed there either. If it didn't ship yet maybe contact them, or cancel the order and place another order with carts. Not sure what would work best.

Thanks Bert. I'll give them a call tomorrow morning (I'm sure it went nowhere since 1:00 this morning). It does come with I think two juice samples (one with the kit and one for spending $25) and I bought a bottle, so I've got juice, but want to make sure I've got some place to put it. I'm guessing drinking it won't do a whole lot to cure the whole hand-mouth smoking need.

Hi SimpleSins. The carts are in that little square white box that should have come w/the kit. The carts are in the cello wraps. They aren't prefilled, though, so put some juice on the white filler. To do that, you might want to pull the filler out w/tweezers, put about 7 drops in and put the filler back in. Then slowly start dripping more juice onto the filler until it pools at the top. Then stick a toothpick down the side of the cart to release the air bubbles and drip more juice in until the cart filler is not a pool, but looks slushy. If you get juice all over the place, don't panic, just rinse it off. When you put it up to your mouth, press the button on the e-cig and take a slooooow, soft puff. Release the button halfway through your puff until you decide what kind of throat hit you want. Have fun, and welcome to ECF.

Thanks, Seabrook. I haven't gotten it yet (just ordered it Sat night/Sun morning. It didn't mention coming with carts on the web site, and of course there's nobody there to ask now, so I was just trying to find out for sure if I needed to order these from somewhere else. I'm like a little kid, and am very excited to get started, so if I needed to order them to get started, I wanted to get it done rather than waiting for it to get here and THEN finding out I need to order them. My dogs will be very sad if mom ends up pouting because she can't play with her new toy!

I had emailed puresmoker before ordering with a question about whether they offered automatic eGo's - the answer was that they didn't, because they recommend the dripping method. Soooo, what does that have to do with you?

Here's a video explaining the dripping technique, which is basically what we'll be doing with our eGo's (I'm hoping mine is delivered tomorrow) from puresmoker, which I don't think have any carts included. PureSmoker.com - USA Electronic Cigarettes & USA Made eLiquid!!!

So - I guess if we hate it, we can buy carts later.

Here's my noob question - what's the atomizer cone, exactly? Is it essentially like the "filter" area of an analog - a mouthpiece?

The cone is supposedly for the draw and warmer vapor. The mouthpiece is above the cone. I like the cone because that's where one of my fingers goes and it looks nice with it on.

OK, I see now. Goodness, that was a stupid question after looking at the pictures again!

My concern now is that the eGo is going to feel clumsy and large after smoking analogs for so long, and I'm wondering if I should've gone with a standard 510.
Well, you don't hold it like a real cig. If you do, then yes it will feel awkward. Also, If you have a manual 510 you are not gonna hold that like a real cig either.
I would suggest looking up vids on youtube and you will see how people hold them. Plus everyone has their own way too.
