I have been vaping for almost four weeks now and been off analogs almost three weeks.

Being new to all of this, I didn't switch up my flavors the first week and got vapers tongue. I have been drinking so much water that I feel like I am going to float away. I bought some mint juice which has pretty much been my adv but have been having some hot cinnamon each day as well. I went to a b&m shop and can taste a bunch of the different flavors. I come home and can't taste them. I have had some of the juices for three weeks and I still can't taste those.

i have about ten different clearomizers to see if that makes a difference. I bought a protank which worked well for a week but now I am just getting an airy draw. I have tried five different coils (1.8 ohms) and they all are working the same. I bought a cartomizer tank set up last week for my cinnamon and so far that is working okay but I am feeling like I am now losing my taste for the mint. Sigh.

i have two vision spinners. One is the smaller size and one is the larger one. I am getting the same results with both batteries.

So here is what I am looking for help with.
1. If it is vapers tongue, why can I taste it in the store but not at home using the same type of clearomizers?
2. What are some suggestions for cartomizer tank set ups that are easy to use? I am sick of running to the store several times a week where I am paying more than I would be online? I only have one cartomizer and one tank and since that is what is working, I am thinking that is the route to go.
3. Any other suggestions or helpful hints? This started out so great but now am feeling quite frustrated.

thanks for your help!

I've been using the 2.2ohm in my Pro Tank, I don't know what size the other coil was that was in the box, but it sucked air when I used it. You could always get some blank disposable carts, and juice samples, switch it up a bit. Maybe get away from the mint and cinnamon for a bit. I got stuck on Peanut Butter Cup and Butterscotch..and I stopped tasting them. So I just filled empty carts with stuff my BF liked, threw it on my twist, and the taste buds came back.
Lots of water, and brush your teeth and tongue! That seemed to help me.

Hi

Geez, it could be one of several things. Not so sure it's a vaper's tongue problem since you report you can taste stuff in the store, but you're losing it at home.

The first question would then be: Are you sure you are using the exact same clearo in the store that you are using at home? In store clearos for demo purposes tend to be those small, top coil CE4's. They can be had in "China cheap" versions for less than the cost of a carto - a lot less. The last 10 pack of them I picked up only cost $12.00

The other thing to be aware of is some people do notice a difference between a bottom coil device like a ProTank and a top coil clearo. It's reported that top coil clearos produce a warmer vape than bottom coil devices. That could be another difference you are noticing between what you can taste in a demo clearo and what isn't working for you at home.

To make sure your PT is performing as good as possible you have to make sure those coils are screwed in tightly. Don't hurt yourself, but if they aren't tightly screwed down to the base performance suffers. If you still find the draw is too airy for you locate the vent holes in the textured base. Rotate it back and forth under good light and you will find them. Try covering one of them up and see if you like the tighter draw better. If you do then it's time to stick something in one of those holes to make it a more permanent solution.

Personally, when it comes to the Kanger stuff, the lower I drop in resistance the less flavor I get. I prefer my Kanger coils 2.2 ohm or higher.

For some people there is a difference in the amount of flavor you get out of a carto compared to a clearo. That could be a preference you are noticing with your carto tank setup. I'm not the guy to ask for carto advice - don't like 'em and don't use 'em.

You may be burning yourself out. If you had your first run in with vaper's tongue, and that's why you headed for the cinnamon, STOP! You can get burnt out on a strong cinnamon flavor and won't be able to taste much of anything else. Give the cinnamon a rest for a week and see if your ability to taste other flavors recovers.

Try some unflavored. What? Seriously, if flavor chasing is burning you out on the overall vaping experience just try some unflavored liquid in your regular nic level to give it a rest. This can also "reset" your experience and expectations when you start introducing flavors back into the mix again.

As someone who has also only been vaping for a month, I ran into that problem myself in my first week with caramel apple from Mt. Baker. After switching it up every couple days I find I haven't had vapers tongue Since. So far my best flavor producer has been an Evod with a 2.5ohm coil. There are many others out there who swear by cartos and if that's what you like I would stick with it. Some pre-punched cartos and another cartomizer tank might hold you for a while. Playing with different voltages and resistance can yield different results too. Cinnamon and mint are both pretty strong flavors on the tongue as well.
