Kanger Protank frustrations

I bought both the protank 1 and 2. When I got the protank 1 I loved it...for a couple weeks. Then I would have some gurgling issues and sometimes I just wouldn't get the amount of vapor I should've. The most annoying issue though was the stale taste my liquid would acquire a day or two after filling the tank. I have about 4 different tanks with different flavors that I rotate between, cause I get tired of a flavor pretty quickly, and I'll switch tanks a couple times a day. I should mention I'm an experienced vaper, I've been doing it over 3 years now. And I mix my own liquid. So I am pretty familiar with troubleshooting ecig issues. I use airtight glass bottles for my liquid when I mix it, and when I would put it into the protank 1, within a day or two it would be a dark brown and I'd get that stale taste. I realize oxidation is taking place and thats why I'm getting the stale taste. But why so quickly with this tank? And why not for the first few weeks I had it? I've changed the coils, and I'd like to mention I think 25% of the replacement coils for the protanks are bad, and thats what causes the gurgling and drawing issues. So anyways a few weeks back I dropped it on tile flooring and shattered the glass.

So I thought this would be a good opportunity to get the protank 2 so if I dropped it again I could replace the glass. Again, first couple weeks loved it. Then right back to the same issues as the first one. Once I used up the coils that came with it I bought a 5 pack of 2.2 ohm coils. First two coils were bad, one I couldn't get any draw whatsoever and the other one gurgled like crazy. Third one I put in worked well but I got the stale oxidized taste within a day or two of filling it. I'm at a loss here. I love the feel of the metal and glass tank cause they feel good quality they feel built to last and you can thoroughly clean them.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or maybe someone can recommend another metal and glass tank that they love and have not had issues with. Thanks a bunch!

Rebuild your own coils.

It's not hard, I can do twenty or thirty while sitting around watching an average movie. This enables you to customize how your coils perform, and has the added bonus of being vastly cheaper besides.

Plenty of Youtube vids demonstrate how to do it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to get the most out of an otherwise brilliant product.

Another issue is the compression of the cup gasket on the top post. To fix, take a second cup gasket, turn it upside down, and slide it over the top post up against the one already there. Make sure it slides over the end of the air tube when screwing your head to the tank. It will often stop leakage issues.
