EDIT: I went ahead and ordered it. Will let you guys know what happens!

Was daydreaming at work and thought of felt wicks. Could this be a possibility? Sorry if it has been done before and was a massive fail.

I know off the top of my head, felt is known for wicking pretty decently. I feel like it'd be more resilient than straight up cotton right?

1/8" felt wicks should do the trick no? Am I missing something here? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Similar characteristics to cotton - not sure why this has not been tried before.
Felt is a woolen material, but don't know how that it will react to heat of a hot coil (fall apart because of the manufacturer process). Hopefully someone in the forum has maybe already tried it???

Sounds promising though anskyboy.

Haha that's true. I'm hoping the felt I ordered wicks as good as they make it out to be.

I'll probably start by using 30g kanthal petar k method, 4/3-5/4 ish coils on a 1/8 drillbit. Expecting the felt to expand once it wicks, and want to give it some room. Pop it in my z atty and see how she rips.

Gosh, it works so perfectly in my head. Practice is always different as well all know.

You Ohioans boil the peas out of everything! :p

"What's that?" . . . . . "I don't know. Boil it."

"What's for dinner?"
"Somefin' boiled"

So very true

We grill everything.

"What the hell is that, green beans? Throw 'em on the grill."

"You want soup? I'll fire up the grill."

I once made a pot of chili on the grill.

:D

Even truer hah!

@OP About felt.

Not all felt is natural, a lot of it is poly based. Do a small test burn and see if it melts vs ignition. If it melts like plastic it's definitely NOT safe to vape on.

If it ends up being actual wool-based felt it'll stink like crap when it gets dry. You probably won't get the stink out ever without a new wick and washing the top cap/drip tip. I'd definitely boil the piss out of it before trying to vape on it after burning a small sample to see how it reacts to heat.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

If you were to do a small bit of SS around it would mitigate the chance of senging it, however I think this with stuffed inside of xc-116 would be the great vape winner bc you would block most of the heat directed at the felt but would have the hopefully abundant juice behind it to supply thick plumes of vape
