fewest ingredint Liquid

I have been smoking for almost 20 years, and last Friday, decided to take up vaping, and haven't had a real cigarette since. it appears that if I know that I have a charged battery and a filled up clearomizer, and vape occasionally throughout the day, I can live without cigarettes, which is awesome. I have not still started to really feel the benefits of quitting smoking, I guess it will take some time to make any dent in the harm done over a 20 year period. But, all in all I am thrilled, to even being able to consider the prospect of me being able to actually give up cigarettes. So, now I am looking forward to the foreseeable future with me as a vapor, a lot of questions are creeping up in my mind. One of the most important one IMHO, is which juice to use? granted these are all potentially a lot safer than lighting up and smoking a real cigarette, but still.... At first I was inclined towards the tobacco flavors, but then I learned, that tobacco flavors are one of the most complex ones to make, thus contain a lot of ingredients. I think I will need some sort of flavor, maybe coffee or something fruity, no menthol or vanilla. So, I am looking for something that will have the fewest number of ingredients in it - so in my mind, that will be just a tad bit safer than the one that uses a lot of ingredients. And, please USA made only - is there any way to verify if a company is actually using US sourced ingredients? so, If any of you veterans are kind enough to shed some light into my question, I will be really grateful.

I too was thinking that tobacco flavors were going to be my mainstay, now only two months that is defiantly not the case. I would suggest just trying some sampler packs choosing different types of flavors, fruit, chocolate, some of the dessert flavors, You may be truly surprised to as what You may end up liking. Since personal tastes vary widely I am hesitant to make suggestions. But I did find myself really liking cotton candy, pomegranate, and pizza flavors just to name a few. Don't be so quick to not try some flavors.

I've had excellent luck with Virgin Vapors. Natural, organic and good flavors. I'm just starting to try all of the samples I ordered, but they are good so far. I chose a lot of minty flavors (butter cream mint, mint chocolate chip ice cream, etc) because I was a 40 year menthol smoker. I also got lots of other flavors.

I liked them because their juice is made in USA, organic, and the absolute line doesn't contain alcohol.

I didn't want PG, but you can order a mix of VG/PG if you prefer. I get plenty of vapor with the VG.

Enjoy!

the starter kit I bought from a local shop, came with a 30ml bottle. I think its 70/30 PG/VG, and its a tobacco flavor, I am not too sure, if I will like this for a long time. just 5 days ago I thought I was never going to want any other flavor other than tobacco, and here I am, lol. Thank you for your kind responses. I asked the same question to 5 vendors through the contact us pages on their websites, and I only got an instant response from mount baker vapor. and the gentleman was kind enough to point out that tobacco flavors are the most complex hence lots of ingredients to make, he suggested I try their blueberry, so I have ordered some, will let everyone know, what I think of it once I get it. thank God I discovered this forum over the weekend! cskent- you are absolutely right! why didn't I think of it before, the fewest ingredient one would be the one with no flavors! Can you recommend a reputable place? thanks a bunch!

First of all, congrats angelismo for making the switch and welcome to the forum!

Buttercream may not be a particularly good recommendation for someone looking for a "safe vape". Diary-based flavours can contain diacetyl, which is, as far as I'm concerned, one of the few ingredients in e-liquids that we really should be concerned about. Virgin Vapors pride themselves on their organic ingredients, but diacetyl is, in itself, an organic compound. Strangely, there is absolutely no mention of diacetyl on their website, but I did manage to find this thread after a lot of searching - it should be a lot easier to find out this kind of information!

For your reference, there is also a list of other juice manufacturers/suppliers who do not use diacetyl here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-please-keep-just-listing-supplier-names.html

All that aside, whilst I appreciate the sentiment, I wonder if you are perhaps being a little over-cautious at this stage. I think the most important thing is to remember that, whatever you vape, it is pretty clear by now that e-cigarettes are considerably safer than traditional cigarettes. I worry that limiting your options in pursuit of the "safest" possible product may harm your chances of success in the long run. Do you have the same attitude to other products you consume on a daily basis? Do you eat processed food? Do you drink cola? Do you use shampoo when you wash your hair? Do you really know what's in any of these things?

One thing you mentioned that is very important for me personally, is to buy juices that are made in the US using FDA/USDA approved ingredients. Why? Two reasons. First, if the quality control of mass-manufactured foreign (read Chinese) e-liquids is anything like the quality control of their hardware, it leaves an awful lot to be desired. Second, foreign suppliers aren't susceptible to US law and therefore there is absoluetly no incentive for them to produce a quality, or indeed, safe product. Manufacturers that use only US sourced ingredients will usually state the fact on their website. Off the top of my head, a few that spring to mind are:

Alien Visions
Epipemods - Pipe Sauce
Freedom Smoke USA
Halo
Johnson Creek
Pink Spot Vapors
Prime Vaping
Rawr
Vermillon River

There are plenty more, but that should keep you going for some time! All the best in your vaping journey and I really hope you find a juice that suits your needs soon!

Mt Baker Vapor is a good place to start. Cheapest place I've found, fast shipping, and good, too.
I did single flavors at first due to issues with allergies, and they have quite a few of them. I like Raspberry, Blackberry, and Butterscotch.

Unflavored is just nic in either PG or VG, or a combination of both. Mt Baker does sell it, but it's too much there. Google DIY if you want to try it, or check the DIY subforum for help.

If you have not tried an RY4 try one, if you have and you liked it, check Wizard Labs and get some TFA RY4 Double.
simple to mix. people like the flavoring anywhere from 4% and I have seen as high as 20% Personally I use a 5% flavoring mix at 50/50 pg/vg and I mix at 6% nic. the secret to a good RY4 is to let it steep a good long time. like a few weeks if you can wait that long. but it is by far the easiest flavored juice I have made and by far the most forgiving for a beginning DIYer

im not able to post anything(been about a week since i registered) but with this topic about fewest ingredients...i made my own liquid a while back.when using it, i get n vapors.at first its a small amount.then all of a sudden it doesnt work. i have the vivi nova. when using the free pg mix i got with it.it hits hard.but i cough a lot and cant get adjusted to it.my mix contains strawberry flaving and food grade glycerin. any ideas why its not vaping? the brand of glycerin is De La Cruz Glycerin U.S.P. Emollient and my flavoring is McCormick Strawberry Extract(only thing i could find at my local grocery store at the time).i forgot exact proportions.the viscosity is like that of maybe juice kinda reminds me of fruit punch.dont know if that has anything to do with it. thanks in advance for any replies :) oh by the way the first ecig i tried it on was a joye 510 i got about 3 years ago.

I am not sure about the vivinova specifically but from my understand they work the same as a clearomizer. Most wick fed clearos have issues with thick 100%VG juices. the glycerin does not wick well and the element goes dry, this can cause over heating of the element and possibly burning out of the coil similar to a lightbulb burning out. Also McCormic extract is not really good for vaping as it is a very low concentration. You are better off looking for LorAnn Flavoring Oils used in candy making. Most groceries keep them at the pharmacy counter. The other possible reason for the failure is that if the extract you are using has alcohol in it at high concentration.

The best thing to do to make your own juice is to look online and find vendors that sell the ingredients needed to specifically make juice for vaping. you will find those flavorings to be VERY different from McCormick Extracts.

Angelismo-

Little Sample packs are the way to start!

I thought the same thing - I have a bunch of sample bottles of various tobaco flavors that I tried using - yuck. Then I tried Coffee! Oh yes! I'm not even a coffee drinker. It's not sweet, and has a great aroma. Most of the Fruit ones seemed a little too 'weird' to me as a new convert from tobacco.

The further you get from 'tobacco' taste, the more your tastes evolve.
