Can someone instruct me on the proper way to use the PTB mods?

I'm a new e-cig user, about 2 weeks, and I immediately switched to the PTB's after seeing a video of them on here.

I cut them and fold them in half as per video instructions, and snip off the end so it's flush with the size of the cart. I drip probably 10-15 drops into the PTB until I see it's no longer absorbing, and liquid pools at the top. Then I just plug it into my atomizer and start vaping.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong, as I frequently have to "top off" my carts, getting only 3-4 drops in before the liquid pools at the top. I rinse them out probably every day or two, and start the cycle anew. Is this correct?

Also... I sometimes drip 2-3 drops right onto my atomizer (DSE901), which gives a much thicker and tastier hit for a few hits. Am I supposed to be doing this if I'm using the PTB?

I'm fairly new too and I dont make them well either so I decided on just buying them from Cignot. Sure you can make them cheaper but I'm lame and lazy so buying them made is perfect for me. ;)

I discovered that by putting the sheets of blue foam in the top rack of the dishwasher, and running it through a whole cycle WITHOUT any soap you will have a product that is clean, film free, odor free and tasteless. Nothing else ever worked, but this completely eliminated all the film, smell, and nasty taste (including the soap I'd tried to clean the foam with originally). Good luck.

I'll give this a shot. Thanks!

I use the PTB mod (as I said earlier) with the M fold... there's someone out there on this forum who came up with it and posted on it. I will go hunt for the thread if I can, but basically, roll and fold in half, then make an M with the two outside "legs" much longer than the inner "V". I then put this in with the M at the bottom of the cart and trim the ends flush with the cart. Then take out, snip lengthwise up the middle (about halfway) to make frayed ends and put the PTB frayed side down into the cart. The folds of the M work particularly well if they line up with the atomizer so they basically surround it. Ok, seriously... I'm looking for the thread 'cause I'm not doing a good job here...

ok i give up. the rho mod, shown here, is similar, but not quite what I do...

I use TAZO tee bags with my volcano and VG juice, just replace the filler in the original cart with the TAZO and fill up accordingly, not only does it last longer but it doesnt leak like PG does if you slightly overfill it, its thick and drains towards the atty. i have a video on youtube. Just look up volcano reviews

I tried the Primer Filter tubes and that blowed. So now I switched over to the AQUA Clear Foam Filter Pads. They're amazing. I honestly don't taste anything except my liq. Then again, I never tried to vape through all the juice cause I don't want to burn the plastic. If and when I feel the liq isn't giving me a sufficient hit. I just top it off. Works like a charm.

Cant beat that for $1.35 for 20-30 carts worth.

For a 510, I get 2 carts from one bag.

IMHO, after making a bunch of carts, here's what I've found works best.

I use the entire height of the PTB, and fold it over to fit it in the cart. The fill should be taller than the cart by 5mm or so. Cut the fill in two pieces.

Roll it tight and fray the bottom of the fill by cutting it with scissors. Push it into the cart. The frayed bit should act like a spring allowing you to push the fill a bit further down. The fill should still be 2-3 mm above the cart lip.

Now I trim just enough off the top to take out the folded areas. I put my scissors in the middle of the roll and unwind it. This should create a little pocket in the middle of the PTB.

A finished PTB mod has a little bit of PTB sticking up over the cart with a pocket in the middle for the atty bridge to fit snug into. The spring action of the frayed bottom pushes the fill up around the bridge.

I really only use 1-2 carts for the 2 flavors I like. The PTB material never wears out from what I can tell. The biggest reason I have to replace carts is from teeth marks.

As always, YMMV.

We've used the Fluval water cleaning pad material since last fall and seems to be the best overall for us.
We tried the PTB filler again and again and never got the results we wanted. We also tried the fluff stuffing batting material and weren't pleased with all the tiny filaments sticking to the atomizer.

It is not you! We are behind in rolling because of our move this week. They will be back. I am going to spend all my knitting time rolling PTBs this weekend...lol
