Filling cartos like everything else concerning vaping has a learning curve associated with it. Taste is subjective and it may or may not change with the filling of each new carto. Personally I use the condom method and generally have very good luck with it. One thing that I might point out is to leave the carto sitting in the condom for a few minutes after filling. Let the filler soak in the juice evenly. If you get juice in the center hole just gently blow it out.

This is a copy and paste I wrote for someone else on how to fill the Ressurectors. Do the same thing for the Boges, they just hold less juice. The Ressurectors hold alittle over 2ml of juice and the Boges hold 1ml-1.2ml. Follow these directions exactly and you should have no problems.
Here ya go:

How to fill a cartomizer with a syringe:

"All you have to do is take the dropper part of the bottle off your juice and fill your syringe with 2ml for a new carto. Take the rubber tip off the carto and carefully insert the needle down the side pushing against the metal. DO NOT go thru the filler because it will move it and you could potentially break a connection and your carto. Slide the needle down the side and go all the way to the bottom. Then slowly start dispensing some juice. Dont dispense it all bc then it won't be evenly distributed. Put alittle in, then take it out and insert the needle in a different spot. I normally do it in 3 spots (in a triangle) I found it distributes the best, but you could just do it in 2, on opposite sides. Make sure the needle is at the bOttom bc then you will not have to wait at all for it to settle. Disperse slowly and you will begin to see the toP of the filler become slushy. It is full then, don't put more. If its a new carto is will def hold 2ml, if your refilling it won't take a lot so pay attention and once it gets alittle slushy stop. While your filling hold a napkin or something under the carto bc if you do it too fast a few drops will come out the battery end. If that happens its only bc you did it too fast and the poly fill didn't absorb quick enough.( that happens to me bc I am impatient and fill it in about 10 sec, so I just hold a paper towel or napkin underneath.) wipe up the drops and put the rubber cap back on the carto. Then put the carto between your hands and rub back and forth spinning the carto quickly. This will insure the liquid is evenly distributed in case you put too much on one side from the syringe.
Now you have a perfectly filled ressurector that is ready to be used right away!"

Hi woody. What kind of juice do you have? 100%VG and high VG% can be hard to load- very thick and don't absorb quickly. The way I first load a carto is to angle the carto and drip 4,5 or 6 drops around the outer edge, rotating it as I go. Then I spin it in a sling (taryn spin) for 10 seconds or so to force those drops down into the carto filler. Take it out of sling and repeat until I get juice starting to come out the bottom of the carto while spinning. Then I add a couple drops to top it off and blow into the battery end to clear out the air passage. After the first loading I usually just drip to refill. Hope this helps. Cheers.

All I taste is primer and it tastes horrendous.

It sounds like you aren't getting enough liquid in the carto and the filler material is burning.

Agreed. And once you scorch the filler material, there's no way to rescusitate that particular carto. You'll have to pitch it.

Here's another tip for high-viscosity, mostly VG, e-liquids.

Before filling your carto (by whatever method), warm the e-liquid bottle in hot water. I'll fill a coffee mug about 1/3rd of the way with water, nuke it, wait until the bubbles (denoting boiling) die down, then drop in the bottle of e-liquid. After about 10 minutes, the e-liquid will be hot enough to reduce the viscosity somewhat.

...more cartos have been ruined and vaping experiences has been screwed by the condom fill method than ???...as I read once...friends don't let friends condom fill...lolol(don't throw flames please...I'm delicate)...I used the syringe fill almost exclusively at first, then the drip and flood method...both work well(even the condom method if used with enough juice)...the main thing is get enough juice into the carto on the first fill...with a std Boge style carto(which will hold 1ml), it will take between 20-30 drops to get completely filled...I leave the bottom condom in place, and drip at least 30 drops using MY juice bottles(all bots make diff sized drops) and the top of the filler stays wet/slushy/glisteny even after sitting for a while...once you remove the bottom condom, give the carto a little blow to clear the center air channel, connect and vape..........

Agree, the burnt taste sounds like you scorched the batting. It will never taste good again. Throw the ones away that already taste bad.

I did the drip-and-spin with the regular (single coil, opaque) boge cartos. I had a lanyard made from one of the cardboard clothes hanger with 4 little slots for the carts... dripped and spun them all at the same time, which sped things up. Eventually I moved to dual-coil clearomizers, and used a syringe needle to fill those. Much quicker than spinning.

These hassles are why I moved to a tank system. Consistent flavor because no batting to dry up, and takes 30 seconds to fill a tank which lasts me all day. I didn't like the 510-T, but the eGo-T is much better. Sounds like you and I had similar aggravations, so thought I would throw out that (unsolicited) suggestion.

Here is how I fill and I ONLY use thin clear juices. Thick juices will give problems. Juices that drop a ton of flavoring sediment in the stuffing will give problems over time. I don't use any tricks when filling. Once you do it one time it's easy. I just use a lot of detail below.

You can use other methods to fill but you still have to fill the carto to its stated capacity, clean it up, settle it, keep it damp.

---
How I fill a cartomizer (Vapor4Life/Bloog/Volt for KR8 or Boge 510 for 510 which are all soft-cap w/ no inner seals and defined central air channel)

I use thin (20% or less VG) liquid or Vapor4Life WOW liquids, preferably clear liquids w/ no sediment

Filling a blank carto - I pop off the soft cap (unbent paperclip carefully in the mouth hole, not catching any wires or stuffing!). I hold some tissue against the threaded end hole (or you could use the carto condom spike to plug the hole). I tilt the carto and slowly drip 18 drops (per ml of carto capacity and these are 1ml cartos, and you may need to wait extra time for the first few drops to get the stuffing wet). I drip onto the inner wall of the carto so it slides down into the stuffing while I rotate the carto. Then I wait 15 seconds or so then I drip however many more drops the stuffing wants to soak up (usually 4-8).

Cleanup: Then I do clean-up. If it is leaking, I clean that up. Then I tilt the open end down into the tissue and puff into the threaded end to clear any juice out of the central air channel (I want to see light through there). With the carto still tilted with open end down I gently touch a bit of tissue to the stuffing (otherwise that liquid will be gurgling or spitting in my mouth). (And instead, if I really want to avoid leaks I touch the soft bit of tissue to the stuffing while puffing into the threaded end.)

Settle: Then since this was a fresh fill of a blank, I now let it settle. I lay the carto on different sides and the ends over 15-20 minutes. Then it should be ready to vape. If you use thicker juices than me, then you may need to let it settle longer.

As I am vaping - if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or tastes bit off or the carto is getting unusually warm, I will take the carto off the battery, open it, add 4-8 drops or whatever it seems to want (I will either hold a bit of tissue against the threaded end hole just in case, or skimp on how many drops I add to make sure I avoid drips if I have no tissue). I check to make sure the threaded end is dry, give it a couple of puffs into the threaded end to make sure the air channel is clear, and continue to vape.

Note - it is easy for me to "open" my main cartos for adding juice because I replace the white end cap with a plastic or delrin drip tip (I get them at LiteCigUSA.net). So I can easily pull that out with my fingers when I add juice and it keeps my lips cool if the carto is hot. I can also pull off the drip tip to check if the top of the stuffing has gone white and could use some juice.
