Was going to make this suggestion in a DIY thread where people stated they couldn't easily get their hands on a syringe. Being a new member I couldn't post a reply there, so will post a suggestion here. This will give me 1 post and apparently when I reach 5 in this forum, I can participate in others. :)

Many inkjet refill kits come with syringes, so access to syringes is probably possible from these refill vendors.

Cheers,
R.

It's honestly sooo easy to get syringes. Go to your pharmacy (CBS OR WALGREENS) and ask for the type of syringe you need. I use the 10 pack 1CC 1/2 inch LONG kind. CVS brand generics if you want cheap. They do not ask for ID usually and you don't need a prescription for humulin or insulin to get them. Their stance on it is if someone is using drugs they want to make sure they don't have to share needles. So whatever your reason is for getting them, it's not hard trust me

Thank you.............makes sense. I guess I'll have to get a syringe. :D

JLW, get the largest GAUGE you possibly can.

Syringes are sold with a few numbers; they are:

CC (sometimes ML) - how much the barrel will hold. Anywhere from .5 to 10, though .5, 1 & 3 will be the most common (go for 3cc if you can, otherwise get the 1cc)

inches - 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 7/8 - half an inch is fine by me

gauge - the smaller the number, the bigger the gauge. I'll repeat: the SMALLER the number, the BIGGER the gauge. *giggle* Go for the biggest you can - I see BigChief can get 18ga needles where he is (LUCKY!), the biggest I've seen around here is 25, with the norm being somewhere inbetween 29-27.

They are usually sold either as singles, or in packages of 10 (I pay $3.16 after tax for a package of 10 in Massachusetts)

So, one might say to the pharmacist, "I'd like a package of 28gauge, 1cc, half inches syringes, please". Or you might be able to just ask for the largest gauge needles they have - if it's something like, 31gauge, it'll be hard to pull up and push out the fluid, because it's too tiny. Gauge will be the most important aspect of your needle purchase for e-cig purposes.

I've also heard of people picking up syringes at pet stores, which tend to be bigger (what we want), but I've never had luck with that. Perhaps if I lived somewhere other than the city (we're kinda low on livestock here!) *giggle*

HTH!

My experience: Syringes are very easy to come by and very cheap (25¢ each with hypodermic needle). I don't use them for filling carts, but I find them very handy for pipetting liquids while DIYing juice.

It is the appropriate sized needles which are a bit more of a challenge. As CarpsChick pointed out, the bore increases inversely with the gauge size ... Gauge 18 and larger (smaller bore) is practically useless for eLiquids.

I've got some blunt tipped Gauge 15 needles, and they're just barely big enough for VG, when/if I buy more I'll go for 13 or 12 gauge and 4" length.
Here BLUNT TIP LABORATORY PIPETTING NEEDLES you'll find a variety of Gauges and lengths. They're blunt tipped, and (sorry to say) a bit pricey. They'll fit any luer tipped syringe, even the two bit ones.
