Good Morning,
So what I am wondering today is when filling tips/filters/cartomizers how long do they last? So if I were going away for the weekend and filled 3 cartomizers Friday before I left, how long before they would dry out/evaporate? Just curious as I am looking at cartomizers and seeing syringes and I don't think I really want to be carrying around a syringe? I know usage depends on how much I use it, but I was thinking if I came back and still had one untouched how long would it last?

Thanks for your Time!

...if you put the little condom cups back on, they should last for weeeeekksssss...how long an individual carto will last while vaping will depend on you...I only use a syringe to fill a new XL sized carto, with reg sized cartos I use the "flood and fill" method...remove barrel end condom and donut...leave bottom condom/plug is place...holding at a slight angle, squirt juice in until flooded up to top...hold a little while it soaks in and flood again...it should be close to filled now...look inside and see if the filler is "slushy" looking, if not, drip a few drops at a time...once it stays slushy looking, take a tissue and touch it into the top to get excess liquid, remove bottom condom/plug and give a little blow into the barrel end(into tissue) to clear the air channel, wipe threads, connect to batt and vape...if it is real gurgly, you didn't clear the air channel enough...as soon as the taste get off or dry tasting, drip a few drops into the top of the carto until it gets close to that slushy look again...a drip tip, stuck into the end of the carto makes a dandy mouth piece and easier to top off than having to keep removing the "donut"...a lot of this will become clear when you get your gear in hand..........

p.s. if vaping only one flav, I don't fill extra cartos, I carry a small bottle of juice and top up the carto as needed...........mj

It definitely depends on how much you vape. I think I vape pretty much the same amount as I smoked, since I don't do it constantly but take breaks every hour or so at work and every 45 minutes or so at home. For me, a cartridge lasts about the equivalent of 2.5 analogs, and a cartomizer lasts about the same as 8-10 analogs.

I'm not a big fan of topping off cartomizers. To me, the whole point of a cartomizer is that it doesn't need a lot of regular filling. I want to fill it, use it for half a day, and then move onto another one. At night, I'll refill whatever cartos I've gone through. Working for me so far. I'm sure my cartos won't last as long as some others, but I've been using the same 3 LR cartos in rotation for a week and they are still going strong.

There are two different things

Cartridges aka carts - The plastic and stuffing tips that are pressed onto a separate atomizer - these don't hold much juice, may dump their juice unexpectedly

Cartomizers aka cartos - these hold juice and screw right onto the battery with no separate atomizer.

The simple stuffing types like Boge 510 or the similar 1ml KR808D-1 cartos from Vapor4life or SmokelessImage/Bloog do not need a syringe if used with thin juice. I use PG w/ only 20% or 10% VG. The times stuffing cartos may need a syringe are when they are a huge cartomizers (like 2-3ml) or if you are using juice that is too thick to soak in well by itself.

The reservoir types with no stuffing usually do require a syringe. I don't want to carry a syringe either.

I use 1ml simple stuffing cartos like Boge 510 on my 510 devices and on KR8 I used the cartos I mentioned. I carry a little juice bottle with me. I used to carry an unbent paperclip to remove the end cap but now I use a simple plastic or delrin drip tip instead of the end cap - comfortable mouthpiece and easy to pull out to add juice. I can add juice at my desk so it's not too hand. If you carry multiple cartomizers, put the clear carto condoms on the ends and as long as the cartos weren't overfilled and were cleaned up well they shouldn't leak. You can also get inexpensive 4-AA battery plastic cases on Ebay and one of those should hold up to 4 1ml cartos with condoms on - just search Ebay for: 4-AA battery plastic case (and then you can order my price, then select the Buy it Now tab)

Great suggestion! I just ordered one to try it out.

Another carrying option is to use an empty Altoids box for your daily supplies. I can fit 4 cartos, 2 510 slim batteries (or 1 riva/eGo battery), 1 atomizer and 1 filled cartridge in there. If I leave out the atty/cart, I can then put a 3mL bottle of juice in there also. The photo attached is quite old but it shows the altoids box on the left.
