You can run two LifePo4s for 6.4v or you can also run two 3.7v 16340s for a 7.4v vape. (AW batteries are all I use in the Precise)

I can't say when it will ship, David may be able to give you some idea on that...

As far as a 5v vape, the only way to achieve that would be to run a LR atty with 3.7v that will get you about the same feeling. I own one of the original Prodigy units with a true 5v and it feels about the same as LR.

I run my P18 with the AW 2900 mAh battery with 1.5 ohm atties most of the time, very happy with it especially with the Vape Mate.

You have made a good choice with the Precise, the wait time is well worth it. I think everyone here will agree.

I have no problems using 3v, 3.7v nor 18650 at 3.7. The AW's are great for me.
Shipping/wait time per David, copied from another thread: P18, P16, P10 Update
The Goal is to have all pending P18/P16/P10 orders completed and shipped by monday. Chad and I committed to working over the weekend in a madness inspired, 48 hour Precise Preparation Fest. If the caffeine, machinery and will of mind holds up, I may be able to actually say theres no waiting on Precise Units on Monday.

Must go faster...

David

Not sure about 5v-but vapn's LR 306 idea is the way to get a feels like experience. I say 306- cause I like them-LOL.

How about 2 RCR123A 3V's for 6v??

I got a bunch of them and a bunch of 18650's and 17670's.

What exactly is the difference between the 18650 and 17670's? Both are Ultrafire 3000mah and 1800mah respectively.

Well sure you can use those batteries. You are about to receive the highest quality device out there, why not get the highest quality battery to use in it. Your device is only as good as the battery inside. Once you feel the difference in the AW you won't even look at those UFs anymore. I sure haven't. You'll spend a few more bucks but get what seems like double the life.

The only real difference in the 17670 and 18650 is size. The 17670 was made to fit in the exact place of two rcr batts. I'm not certain how they will fit in the P18, haven't tried that yet. The Precise has adjustment down inside the tube in the form of orings that the negative end of the battery rest on. Remove one for longer batteries, add one for shorter ones. You may have to make some adjustments.

I don't recommend the AW 17670 in the P18650, only the AW18650 or two lifepo's for 6v. Combined with LR's or HV atomizers, you'll have several combinations to play with. As far as ship time, i'd estimate the current wait at around 1 week, my all weekend blitz went well and we are just about done with the entire pending lot of Precises.

What about the Ultrafire 17670 1800mah? I use them in all my 18650 devices along w/the 18650 Ultrafire's.

Also, I did order a couple AW 18650's. 2600mah. They are pricey. Do they just last longer?

dspin,

I have ordered a P18, have seen the holes before, but did no request on my order.
As I understand, using protected batteries only, vent holes are not too much of a concern.
Do you use unprotected batteries, hence you request for the holes, or am I off-mark?

Thanks in advance fr your feedback.

Cheers!

There is never a guarantee that a battery will not have problems at any point and time. So as an added safety measure a lot of us have David put vent holes into the device we purchase. Whether we use protected batteries or not. Most of us do use protected batteries.
The holes give gases that may leak (when a battery fails) a place to release from.

I use the AW 2900 18650 - You can never be too safe, its not too late to ask for you P18 to be drilled, all it takes is one time. I never leave my batts in any device when I'm not around. Sleeping, mowing grass, etc.
Even if you use the IMR's that do not vent w/flame, they still will vent.

Hmmmm, perhaps I should have a convo with David. I placed the order yesterday...I might have time to make a vent hole request. It just looks sooo damn good without, although, on the flip side, I wouldn't look sooo good without a hand!!

Thanks for the feedback Hz! Love you avatar/signature quotes....GO TRUTH!!

Some people have a bit of trouble with the truth, I have always gained from hearing it, no matter how bad the sting.
Let David know you would like the vents-they really are not as 'in your face' as you think. We just can't help but to take great pics of the Precise. The vents are at an angle and really do add to the look of the mod. A bit retro, if I may. Kind of like an addition to that really nice racing car you saw last week on the track.
Yeah, I got a bit of bubba in me-Ma'amaw drove what my Papaw built and she rolled a few(cars that is)-LOL. I am an Alabama girl. Can't seem to wash it off.
In Florida now and gotta put on a tan and try to class it up a bit so I can look good while changing the oil.

Vent holes came about largely because, back in the day, Lithium Ion unprotected CR2's were stacked and a few had failures with those batteries. Super T T-1 was the first mod to implement vent holes and my style and method of putting in vent holes has remained unchanged. They are 3 equally spaced vents machined in at a 30 Degree angle. I have never read of a Protected single cell mod ever having had a catastrophic failure, nor stacked Lifepo's or IMR's. That said, it's still not bad, even if you never have a failure, they add a bit of flare to your mod.
