So, I've been thinking for awhile now... whenever I go out to the smoke pits, invariably, someone will ask me if I'm using an ecig, or how does it work, or does it actually work to keep me off smokes... stuff like that, I'm sure you've all heard those questions. I can talk ANYONES ear off, easily. When I'm talking their ear off, I'll throw down different resources for info for them to look at, but I know I probably just overkill it and lose them, since I get so excited about vaping, and not smoking anymore.

So, today, I got off my .... and did it. I went onto a website that you can get "free" business cards from (the catch? you gotta pay for shipping!) and got 250 cards, and was only £5 for the shipping. I put at the top that if they were interested in vaping and quitting smoking, feel free to ask me questions or for advice/help anytime. I put down my ECF name, the forum site address, and quite a few links to different resources for newbie info, plus links to different reviewers on YT... and the best part... because I ALWAYS get asked "So, what kind of ecig is that?!? I've never seen one like that before", I put on the bottom

What am I using? www.reosmods.com
www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/

So, here's the plan I've got: next time I'm out at the smoke pit, or out and about, and people show interest, I'll dial back my long-windedness a bit, and if they really do seem interested, I'll just hand them a card after talking to them a little bit.

Thought I'd share that with everyone, might be useful to help out soon to be ex smokers.

Heh heh, that's pretty cool! I might just do the same.... I tend to be careful. I know ex-smokers can be known for going on about how bad smoking is. Don't want to be seen the same way though I would like to do folks a favor and let them know there is an alternative to analogs. One that can be very satisfying.

This idea of mine, it just makes sense. Since the smoke pits here are on base, I can't put up flyers (military considers ecigs as tobacco products, not THR products or cessation tools), but handing cards to someone, no problem there.

EDIT: Regarding the "smoke pits": On most military bases (not all), there are designated tobacco use areas (DTA), commonly referred to as "smoke pits" (at least the maintainers I've always been around and worked with call them that). Being that they are on a military installation, there are rules regarding what is and is not allowed to be hung up or posted in those locations (typically). For example, a policy letter regarding DTA's upkeep/cleanliness on official letterhead signed by a lawful authority figure is OK. A garage sale flyer is not. This is why the idea of a business card instead of flyers is such a better idea.

Ok, here's a saved pic from when I was verifying what was going to be printed on the card. The reference links I used were ones that have helped me in the past. Some of them some of you might agree with, or disagree with, I just picked ones that I thought would be the most bang for the buck and/or I used when I started one year ago. The idea is that if you decide to copy this idea (which is great!), then YOU get to pick what you think are helpful/important links for people to check out. There isn't really a right/wrong link, just ones that you think are helpful. Having said that, keep in mind, the space is limited on the card (unless you pay for more stuff, which I wasn't going to do yet until I know that the idea is really sound), and I've already paid for these, so I can't change them (until I burn thru 250 cards LOL).

Here is what I ordered

Oh, if people have ideas for websites for newbies to check out, perhaps suggestions put into this thread isn't a bad idea? Like I said, I put down ones that I knew about and thought would be helpful. While many of us would say that they wished they started straight off with a REO, I was thinking it might be easier for some to transition to lets say an ego with a clearo (like a twist w/ an evod/protank style topper) while they learn about ohm's law, battery safety, vaping 101 type stuff.

Depending on the person, they might be willing/able to jump up to something like a REO pretty quickly, but the purpose of putting down the fact that I use a REO is so that if the concept appeals to them, they can check it out early. I will still probably recommend starting out with something like a twist/topper, cost effective and simple, paired up with good juice that is priced very reasonably, but it sure don't hurt to introduce them early to a great device! (I'm sure it couldn't hurt Mr. Rob's sales either, thereby increasing REOville's population)

Most importantly for me, with my upcoming 1 year vape-a-versary: to help others successfully quit smoking specifically in the military, and out in public in general. However it gets done will have been worthwhile, regardless of what gear they decide to use.
