I know this is subjective per user likes and dislikes but this is how I finally got the Protank working to my liking.

I found it out of the box a bit too airy on the draw. It might have something to do with the 3 air holes an the 4 channels but then again this is the subjective part.

I got by with using a 510 to ego adaptor and the skirt. This helped some but still not good for me. Yesterday I went to the local B&M and they had these 510 air flow regulators. Looks like a cool idea and looked better than a 510 adapter sitting on top of the Vamo.

I put the adapter on and adjusted it up and wow this was now hitting close to my liking. The final thing I did was remove 1 of the wicks from the atty head. I like to run 50/50 or thicker stuff so this seemed to help it out a bunch.

Anyways I thought I would throw this out here just by chance someone wasn't exactly happy with the Protank. I'm much happier with it now.

Keep us informed how the air flow regulator is working.

I ordered a second Kanger Protank. I think the first one was defective. If the second tank is problem free I would like to know more about this airflow regulator.

So far so good for the exception of the leaking/gurgling once you get below a half tank. I suspect this is a wick issue after further inspection.

I put the top wick material back in but I didn't put it back on top. I kinda pushed it around the sides to fill in the gap between the coil and and the metal chamber. Best way to describe it, I made a nest around the coil. I'm still getting great flow with the regulator and with the wick moved around.

I think most of the issues revolve around the coil head leaking due to the extra space. This normally wouldn't effect a top coil clearo but since this is on the bottom there is gravity to deal with. If you try to blow it out, well the air movement just wicks more juice through.

As of now I'm getting excellent vapor, no leaks or gurgles and have about 2 mils to go to its dry. I'll try and take some pics once I run the tank out.

More than likely it is not leaking... the gurgling comes from condensation just like on the evods. The higher watts I pump into it the more vapor is produced and the quicker condensation builds up in the tube.

This appears after half a tank because of all the vapor that gone through the top tube. I also notice that if I remember to either continue to draw after releasing the fire button so that the vapor clears the draw tube or if I blow into the tube to clear the vapor in the tube after a draw...

When I don't do that it will build up and gurgle.. I just use a qtip and clear the tube on a regular basis..

Sorry, in this case you would be very wrong. When the atty chamber floods it leaks juice out the bottom when you remove the tank. While the tank is in place the entire chamber is full since fluid can pass through the wick. The gurgling ( in this case ) is caused by air passing through said flood atty chamber.

The only way to mitigate this is packing extra wick in the gaps thus blocking fluid from building up in excess below the coil.

Anyways I have about a mil of juice left in the tank still and I have been chain vaping nonstop with these modifications I have made. Sofar it's still rocking!! No leakage, no gurgles huge vapor on par with my drip attys. Flavor is milder than an iClear 30 but the juice used is more efficient. Working great from 3.5 up to 4.8 volts, any higher I start to taste wick.

+1 to that. I've noticed it condensates quite a bit depending on how you draw your vape. I've not had a gurgle in mine though...quite honestly I'm still amazed this thing is acting perfectly. Going on 5 days with the same head on it...and it hits/tastes like the day I put it together. I have about 20 tanks of juice through it (mainly 70/30 pg/vg). I've rinsed the atomizer and head out 3 times. Kinda easy to clear the wick of gunk after running it under hot water. Just plug the bottom hole and blow through the top - all the water is forced out through the wick.

Overall I'm quite impressed ... ordered another 1 today. :)
