Hello everyone! I'm Rob, was a 1 1/2 PAD smoker for 20 years before I finally managed to quit. I've been vaping for three months now. At the beginning I was lucky enough to have found a very cool local vape shop that had a ton of gear (most of which I had no clue what they were except the little ego batteries everyone carries around here on their necks). So that's how I started, an eGo 1100 mAh with a Protank 2. Then I upgraded to an ego twist, I got a hold of an Evic and then the store owner was nice enough to teach me how to build coils on a Kayfun, which has been my last purchase. I currently rock an Evic with a Kayfun, 1.5 ohms at 11 watts. If anything I'm looking into mechanical mods but I feel like I'm going a bit too fast, and what I have right now satisfies me plenty so no rush! :D

One thing, I'm a juiceaholic. Oh that "you'll save money when you quit" saying did not apply to me at all. I've probably spent $800 in juices alone in just three months (very worth it anyways). Brands that I've tried include Halo, Nicquid, Space Jam, Five Pawns, Suicide Bunny, Ruthless and I probably left a few out.

I kept hearing about this forum, reading a bit here and there until I finally decided to register. A lot of nice folks here and lots of good information. So hello everyone! :vapor:

Welcome Rob, and congrats on 3 months!

I think you'll find most of spend just as much, if not more on juice and equipment, unless you get into DIY. The cool thing is once you get enough posts, there's a great section where you can sell or trade unwanted juice (or equipment) and a swap thread too. They can be really great for passing on unwanted juice (or equipment) and acquiring new things to try.

rob, what has been the change in tasting the flavor of the vape as you have moved up ?
Well, the Protank was decent, but extremely muted after I moved on the Kayfun. Like worlds apart, a completely new and rich experience. I was able to taste much better (specially when my taste buds were recovering from 20 years of smoking), a much denser and crispier flavor. I had to lower my nicotine as well down to 12mg from 18mg. Throat hit on 18mg was making me cough a lot.

I'm itching to try dripping as well, got an IGO W on the way and 100 feet of kanthal 28g.

Thank you!

Nice to know, I'll definitely be looking at those.

congrats on kicking the habit, and i know what you mean i havent saved that much money from switch as i am constantly buying juices and hardware, but that being said i feel alot better spending that money on vaping rather than slowly killing myself with smoking. you will find alot of good info on here and dont beafriad to ask even the "stupid" questions as we have all been there. all the vets are more than willing to help! keep up the good work man

Congrats on quitting the icky sticks. Yeah, I'm a gadget person.. so this is feeding into another part of my addictive personality lol. I've spent way way way too much money in the last couple of weeks. 250-300 on hardware and 150 on juice.. it's time for me to just sit back and vape, lol.
It definitely became quite the hobby to tinker with. I'm afraid of walking in my local B&M because every single time I go there I walk out with something, and it definitely won't be a $5 drip tip
