After 9 months of resisting temptation to purchase a second Reo and managing to get by with my 9 month old black wrinkle I have finally pushed the button on a Silver Hammertone Grand. :)

I have been dithering between a Grand and an LP Grand but due to stripping my delrin insert screw or the Grand body itself I have been pushed into making a decision.

I was tempted by the LP but eventually went for an old school Grand as I love the Non AFC VA Cyclone BF so much. :)

Now the waiting begins again.

Pics will follow as soon as it arrives. :)

Nothing wrong with the old school grands. I have one and it's with me day and night. I have an LP because I wanted the option to use larger stuff and actually bought a Cyclone and AFC, so I really wanted the LP to use this on. Besides, you REALLY have to have at least another for a backup :). Look forward to your pics!

Congrats on the Hammertone.

I have a question...Is it recommended to clear coat the hammertone to protect the finish like the vein's.

Nope it will remain looking like new for years and years.

Its in my top two finishes now days ..... reminds me of good old school products ..... the kind that were built to last forever.

I've had red powdercoat, blue powdercoat red anodized, blue anodized, clear anodized, black wrinkle and Lewis Hammertone.

Without question, Lewis is the most durable finish. No clear coat needed. Not a scratch, scuff or even the customary bottom corner bare spots that the other finishes sometimes get. Nothing. Looks like the day I got it what, like a year or more ago.

Now I baby my mods, but I use em a lot and don't like wear gloves or anything when i use em. I pocket em with keys, set em on concrete, you name it. It's a tough finish.

It's amazing looking and feeling. Paul, you made a solid choice my man. Congrats. You will love it. Very few pix I've taken do it justice.

Here's mine right now at the beach. Single color in the spirit of my homie Tim :)

It's been LP'd and it is KILLIN IT with that satin chalice on there :)
