I smoked for 15 years. 4 years ago I bought a provari. I have been using it ever since and occasionally changed the tank.
Yesterday I decided I would buy a new setup. I purchased a Hercules plus tank with a joy tech cuboid mini. No matter what I do or adjust it irritates my throat. I had nautilus on my provari before hand and it was always smooth.
I use juicy ejuice fluid 6mg. 50/50
Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong. Thanks
Sean

If you really like your nautilus tank,(like me), you can still vape at higher voltage by using the coils for the trition mini's. They fit the nautilus and allows a different kind of vape at higher temps.
I have a link for you but am not necessarily endorsing any one vendor over another. Maybe can find somewhere less expensive by shopping around.
dotdotdot/sweet-vapes.com/tanks/aspire/aspire-coils/aspire-triton-mini-nautilus-coils.html
just remove the dotdotdot/ and paste into a browser.
Anyway, just a thought.

what ohm is your coil? I have found certain ohms and wicking can irritate my throat finding the sweet spot is the toughest part
Thats why i LOVE RTAs and rebuilding.

I build to my sweet spot. Every time i build my build is + or - .05 ohms

As far as MTL tanks with pre-built coils, Nautilus is still considered one of the best (all the tanks being released nowadays are sub-ohm tanks designed for huge airflow and huge clouds). If you're more or less happy with the Nautilus but want an upgrade, I've heard really good things about the Kabuki. It's a little on the spendy side, but it uses (and supposedly brings the best out of) Nautilus coil heads.

What tank had you been using on your Provari? Why not continue using the same tank? Just because a device is capable of pushing a lot more power, doesn't mean you have to use all the power....

I have Nautilus tanks, Kanger Subtanks (Nanos and Minis), Protank 2s, eGo ONEs and a small handful of others. For *me* it's all about what coil (or build) I put in the tank. I like the eGo ONEs - the bases have AFC, you can use a variety of coils (pre-built or rebuildable) Even in the Subtanks - the newer SSOCC coils are pretty decent for me. You can get 1.2Ω and even 1.5Ω coils and set the airflow back pretty well (smallest AFC and higher-ohmed coil lend to decent "tootling".)

Maybe I'm all wet, but even with TC, you can tone down the vape characteristics. TC doesn't have to equal ginormous clouds....

I'm guessing that you're getting more vapor production than what you may have been used to, and that's affecting the tickle in your throat.

As long as your device can run your tank, IMO, the device is merely a power supply.

Am I the only one who can taste the chrome plated brass of the chimney? It was great for the first few weeks and then that chrome taste started taking over everything. And I have four of them so it isn't just an odd one. Now they live in the vape junk box. I even bought the SS tanks for them too.

I've never noticed it. What juices are you using? There may be a reaction between the juice and metal finish.

Hey Sean, great advice above already. This tank comes pre-installed with the 0.2ohm coil.
There was also a 0.5ohm coil included. Going from 1.8 in your Nautilus to 0.2 is a huge jump in performance and heat.
You may want to try the 0.5 coil at 20-30 watts(starting at 15w or so)
before dropping more cash.
Like you my provari lasted me for years until I tried sub ohming.
I'll never go back.(personally of course)
A different draw technique is required, more airflow/faster shorter draws are required.
Experiment. Cheers.

edit. you are able to read the coil resistance on the screen after a vape.

Oh gosh... that was over a year back. And mine had those glass fiber wicks or whatever they were. Later they changed to cotton, but I quit using them by then. I dunno juices like Maui Sunrise, Coffee, and Apfelstrudel I guess.

Maybe lower nic level to 3 and 100% vg?

You have the tank, so that would be worth a try, even 80/20 vg/pg. And for what it is worth, I have the Herakles+, but have never hit it all day. I'm happy picking it up for a couple hours in the afternoon, then put it down and go to something else. I like variety both in flavors and gear.
