I started off with 36mg juice. What helped me in all honesty was that I didn't know how to smoke an e cig so I kept vaping on it. Then I got a nicotine high off it really bad. What that did was reassure my brain that there is nicotine in it. No doubting that.

I say this because my GF is having trouble with getting off analogs and I keep trying to reassure her that she is addicted to the nicotine and it is in the juice.

What I would do ig get a higher strength nic juice and see if that helps.

But cretainly keep reminding your self that it is the nicotine that you are addicted too. This will help. Or you could OD on nicotine like I did. Lol

Morning All,

I've been vaping since the 19th of October 2010 and I'm finding it hard to get off the analogs also. Right now I smoke Pall Mall with the Nicotine count of 1.3 - 2.7mg so what strength should I have my Nic Juice to make it equivalent to the analogs ?

Cheers

How much did you smoke? Half a pack a day? One pack? Two?

If you're smoking more than a pack a day I would say go with 36mg, if you're doing one pack, 24mg, and if you're doing less than a pack a day try 18mg.

I just picked these numbers on the fly, but I think it's a reasonable guideline :p

Patience! It takes time for the habit to break. I think I still smoked analogs for up to 6 weeks after I started vaping. I know a lot of ppl quit the day they started vaping but for me it was a much more gradual process. I did not want to lose my cigarettes yet, so I hung on to one a day for 3 weeks, seems silly but it made sense in my brain.

Just keep doing it, when you want to smoke, try to tell yourself do I really want a cigarette?? What am I really looking for here?
It is not automatic, but it can happen when you are not paying attention.

Its all about having a device that hits like a train and decent Nic level at first, just to get you over the hump. Seeing a ridiculously large mound of vapor, and a great throat hit makes all the difference. You have to let go of the "I want it to still feel like I'm smoking" mentality. Not saying you have to get a pipebomb mod, but If you 'scruggl'n', it might not be a bad idea. IMO anyways. Hang in there, you will find what works.

When i started vaping someone said to look at it like changing brands, this did help some! I still have cravings sometimes and at that point i tell my self that if after 15mins straight vaping if im not satisfied ill have an analog, the craving is usually gone by then! The first month or so I was quite literally attached to my pv 24/7 it has cut down a lot now and i actually find i can leave the house without it and not have a panic attack like i used to when i smoked analogs! Just keep at it, one less analog smoked is better for u in the long run anyways:)

Crap, didn't realize you were using an Ego. They are a pretty good device man. Have you tried using a LR atty? They are a must for a 3.7 volt device IMO.

this was my first thought as well... a good friend of mine couldn't kick analogs until he went with the eGo and the Low Res atty. give it a shot... good luck!

I don't get any cravings for analogs anymore in the slightest, but I also spent a grueling 6 months or so finding the right device and atty.

If you have an eGo then you can try LR atties, the nic level is also important but I suggest you try the atties first since they have an awesome throat hit and are a little cheaper than buying a new array of juices.

I managed to quit completely with standard 510 atties on an eGo but missed cigarettes until I got my first LR atty, after that experience I can say I will never go back to smoking.

I'm not sure if the whole process was like e-cig training wheels or not but I tend to think it was.

Still smoking a few daily, down from a pack or more and I figuire I'm still way ahead
I found that having a good PV like your ego, and good juice makes it easier
Another way to go is get high nic. juice 48mg and thin it out with a 'doubler'
Tasty Vapor sells doublers alot cheaper than nic juices and then mix to the level you want
Try sampler packs and vary the PG/VG ratio along with different flavors
drink plenty of water and don't worry too much about a few stinkies..vape happy :)

why don't you cry about it...
I find people to be far too supportive on this site.
j/k...

I don't think many people switched on the immediate tip...took me a couple weeks at least

Dude it took me four seconds to quite analogs completely. That's about how long the first draw from my Icon was. By the way has anyone ever told you that you look a lot like Matt Parkman from Heroes. Come on I can't be the only one.

Is there such a thing as a LR Carto ?
And would anyone know if HappyVaper provide those ?

Cheers

Hi CanWEBada!
huggy.gif

I've done a bit of checking on this. The short answer is no, Happy Vaper doesn't carry them (yet), due to concerns that LR cartomizers might end up running too hot & becoming ruined quickly - but Jack has also told me he will keep his ears open to the discussion of LR cartos.

I've always been quite pleased with my Boge 510 cartomizers from Happy Vaper. But hearing people who use separate atomizers rave about "low resistance atomizers" made me wonder if anyone made low resistance cartomizers, and if I was perhaps missing out on an even better vaping experience.

So I read that the Boge 510 cartomizers measure (on average) 2.7 ohms resistance. And there are low resistance 510 cartomizers out there (there are a few different makers, though I'm having difficulty finding reliable info about who the makers are - not a problem I experience very often with vape-related stuff). Anyway, the LR ones (on average) measure 1.7 ohms resistance.

On a standard, genuine Joye 510 battery (which, unless I'm mistaken, is usually a 3.2v device - at least in practice)...the difference measures out to roughly 3.8 watts with the standard Boge carto...vs 6 watts with the LR carto. If I am mistaken and the Joye 510 battery is a 3.7v device instead of a 3.2v one...then the difference is approximately 5 watts with the standard Boge carto vs 8 watts with the LR carto.

If you're like me, all this talk of ohms & watts & voltage is technojargon that doesn't particularly resonate with you. All that really matters is: will the cartomizers you use work well, be a pleasure to vape with, and have a good life expectancy?

So far, while I am still curious to try some LR 510 cartos if Jack gets some in stock (preferably from Boge) - you know, just in case they're super awesome, lol...I can honestly say that the Boge 510 cartomizers I've been using for the last 3 months are pretty awesome already. They deliver wonderful, rich flavour...hold a lot of juice...are super easy to fill with my blunt-tip syringe...and the materials are pretty quality & solid. I like that they're made from metal, and are therefore quite durable...but don't have an unpleasant metal feel when I hold them or vape on them. Granted, once in a while I get a dud (though that happens to everyone regardless of what they use)...and sometimes I get a batch where the cotton stuffing is overfull or wild & unruly, instead of nice & trim & tidy the way I want. But I get enough good ones, that perform great, to keep buying them. From what I've read over the last few months, from various sources, 2.7 ohms is a relatively nice medium(ish) spot between what one typically gets from LR atomizers and what many standard atomizers will give.

Remember also: the lower the resistance, the greater the likelihood that your cartomizer will run too hot & become ruined. Being intimately familiar now with how my standard Boge 510 cartomizers perform...a LR cartomizer from them might be a good option (at least for winter, when it's blizzarding snow & a hotter performance just makes sense). But not too low. I know that none of the standard ones I've been using have ever burned. I keep 'em wet.

So I remain loyal to the standard Boge 510 cartomizers, but will keep an open mind about LR ones. Jack, if you get some from Boge & can tell us the ohms resistance they give, I'll at least try 'em. Hope this post helped you, CanWEBada!
