Firing up a new cartomizer, any tips?

I've got my Volcano mega cartomizers, syringe, and juices ready to go. Do I need to do anything special?

Should I only start off with a little bit of juice in the reservoir, just in case I get a burned taste, so I don't foul an entire cart of juice? Do I need to blow through the atomizer for priming fluid? Anything else?

No....you don't need to blow out a cartomizer that I know of. I would go ahead and fill it up....a little juice may make it not work as well as it should.

good question, i have some cartos coming tomorrow so this was a big help.

Just finished filling it up. Not too tricky. Got close to 2ml in there before a little came out the top. Hopefully nothing damaged by that. I twisted up a little piece of tissue and tried to get the excess soaked up before putting the seals back in.

In a thread about "burning cartomizer taste" I heard someone say to leave it sit for a while to make sure the fluid wicks up. Is this a good idea? Or should I just go for it?

Gave Jager Bomb a try. Decent flavor. Took enough just to fill the cart but am letting the rest steep in the closet. Definitely more vapor than from the prefilled carts. After 3 or 4 hits though, I think I do detect a smokey, burned flavor that wasn't there before. Guess I'll let it sit for a bit. Also filled up one for my gf with Thin Mint. Gonna let that soak for a few and give it a taste.

Got a question. Not sure if anyone is familiar with these cartomizers. You take out the two seals, then there's a seal underneath with two little holes for the syringe. There's an opening in the middle of this seal, and I'm not sure what I'm looking at. I THINK it's the coil, with a wick type fiber running through the middle of it. Should I directly drip a few drops onto this as well? Or best to just fill through the two holes?

Here is what I'm talking about. Do I also want to get any juice dripped down in that middle hole, or only in the small syringe holes?

I assume you have the ceramic cartos. I just recently tried them and I am hooked and actually ordered 100 of them from china. I found that I got the burned taste also. what worked for me was to take out the 2 top seals then let the new cartomizer soak in hot water for a little while. I then blew out the extra water, did the reverse taryn spin, filled them up and walla, they are fantastic. I have been using the same 3 for over 3 weeks now, new ones should be in by next week (yay). These ones are still working and I have cleaned them a couple of times but I can tell they are probably on their last legs, lol, but I definately got the good out of them.
