So, the best piece of hardware I'd used personally was a Protank II with a v1 aero ring on it...

I decided to get the smok RSBT - and here's my thoughts 2 days in

Un-Boxing:
I’m not going to bore you with nitty-gritty particulars here. There are plenty of photos of the device sitting in its cradle of fake black velvet.

Surprises:
tank is larger diameter, but shorter than my Protank 2 with aero ring. Paired with the stubby drip tip use it's even more stealthy on my iStick.

Stock Performance:
So, I got home late the day it arrived, didn’t have time to dive into a re-build, but it was a new toy.
Onto the iStick it went, reading out at 1.7 Ω. Adjusted the screw for the center pin to get a snug fit, to the little box and moved forward.

Some strawberry lemonade that I’m not married to as a flavor was used to prime the silica and fill up the tank (wasn’t sure it wouldn’t leak and my fave flavors are too valuable). Kind of a trick to fill using a small tip squeeze bottles (not syringe tips) but I've found that if you prime the wick, and close the AFC you can fill it with the top off, then put the tank cap in place with the fill screw loose/out and it works pretty nice, no flooding.

Screwed it all together, fired it up, and it made decent vapor even with the stock coil. Way better throat hit than my old tank. The draw was about the same looseness (tightness) as my Kanger ProTank II with the added v1 aero ring wide open - with the AFC on the SMOK RSBT set to 2 ½ to 3 of its 5 holes. More open will be nice to play with going forward. The AFC ring has been called ‘loose’ but I didn’t have that experience. It stayed put pretty well throughout vaping on it even when I moved it to different settings. That might be a manufacturing tolerance things so your MMV. Further, without changing anything, I ran the AFC at 1 hole to 5 holes without any gurgle or flood, and only 1 or two dry hits when chain vaping pulls of 6+ seconds.

The stock drip tip is nice. It fits snug and doesn’t spin or slip out so far. It’s the same internal bore as my previously (and possibly still) preferred little stubby tip, which flares wider. That tip also fits on there just fine, and shortens the overall height.

Build
Got home yesteday, built out my first big boy coil: 2mm diameter 28g Kanthal A1, 8/7 wrap
(I was aiming for 9/8 but missed) and landed at 1.2 ohms instead of the 1.4 I had planned on. No real problem as both will fire on my iStick)

Wicked with japanese cotton through the coil... though I learned the issue of cutting against the grain making the wick go all to powdery bits... o well, had to learn it somehow.

Filled it with Cosmic Fog - Milk and Honey and WOW. Loved it. This is the experience that will keep me off actual cigs.

Only problem is that as the tank went on I got a few drier and drier hits.

My guess is I need more/less wicking?

I love mine...been vaping it as my ADV for about 5 months now.

If you're getting dry hits you have a few options...

One...less wick in the hole to allow more flow.

Two...tighten up your draw (either draw harder or tighten up the airflow a notch)

Three..larger diameter coil to allow more wick inside the coil

Personally I'd look at the diameter of the wick extending into/through the holes first..thin it out slightly and you should be ok

I use Silica exclusively. 2 mm wick extended through the hole is the perfect size for liquid flow and air to return to the tank. I wrap my coil directly around two to four strands of 2 mm silica (normally 28 ga Kanthal) and then trim all but one wick to stay inside the chimney just shy of the holes...one wick goes all the way through both holes and I trim about 1 mm outside the hole after wetting the wick and putting the chimney on.

Currently I'm running a 1 ohm coil (6 wraps in contact with each other tightly wound around two strands of 2 mm) and I get great vapor and no dry hits with 50/50 juice

Hope this helps you enjoy the tank!

Oh yeah...almost forgot. I fill mine with a syringe through the fill screw hole leaving the airholes open...works like a champ.

Here's a third way... I make a 2 mm micro coil, thread cotton through and trim so about 3/4" sticks out past the openings. I then tuck the cotton in the juice well so the ends touch the bottom and run up each side to the top of the slots then make a right angle to the coil. I make sure the cotton is pressed up against the inner wall nicely. No wicks sticking out the holes at all. This is the only way I've found to wick it and avoid dry hits or floods.
Filling, I close the airflow off, remove the fill screw then remove the entire top while holding the glass. I fill then put the top on then the screw. I take the screw out so I'm not putting the juice under too much pressure.

The RSBT is a pretty good tank but IMO the Eleaf Lemo kicks it's ....!
