So I built my first and second coil and followed rip trippers instructions for the sleeper coil came out looking beautiful, pinched together and even the ohm reader was reading .3 but it just doesn't heat up fast enough???

What gauge wire are you using?
The lower the gauge number the slower the coil will heat up. For example, a coil made using 26 gauge will heat up a lot slower than a coil made using 32 gauge.

Well jblack741 I'm using a vtc5 30amp drain, and Susan I first tried with 26 but like the video said I redid it with 24 :/ so frustrating I've built 3 all failed
It's actually the opposite, the lower the gauge the lower the resistance and the faster it heats up.
What batteries are you using? How charged are they? What gauge kanthal are you using? How many wraps per coil? What size wrapping post? Pictures?
More information is needed to be of any help. In general, the more wire you use the longer it will take to heat up.
The sleeper build is nice because the center post only has one lead to deal with, so it usually conducts a lot better. You can think of a regular dual coil (parallel) build like a stream that splits in two but the split streams still run parallel to one another. At the split, there the friction from the water hitting the divide causes drag and disrupts flow. The sleeper is like an unsplit stream. Point being, it should have an easier time heating your build up as opposed to a similar split dual coil build.

so I know the coil on the left is a bit ehhh but they wouldn't glow so I gave up on fixing it, again this is 24, I also have 22, and my neighbor has 26, I already tried 26 same problem?
Can you please provide a photo of your build? Did you follow the tutorial exactly? If you did, it's probably an issue with your battery charge or voltage drop on you mod. What's your setup?
Okay, so that's a lot of wraps. With long coils like that it will take a long time for the coils to glow. Despite being at a lower resistance, there's a lot more wire there to heat up. I've tried the sleeper build and it came out well, but it's too much of a PITA, so I stick to my dual coil (parallel) builds.
Using your 24 gauge kanthal, find a 1.5mm post to wrap on, do 9 tight wraps per coil and you should come out to around 0.28Ω. Best for flavor, vapor production, and building ease I've found. I see you're using the Plume Veil, that's what i use so it should come out exactly the same. I'll post a picture for you.
I believe this one has 7 wraps per coil and comes out to 0.20Ω but that's too low for me. 8 wraps per coil will produce 0.24Ω and 9 wraps will produce 0.28Ω, and 8 or 9 wraps is perfect.

The reason why it's not heating up fast is because you have a lot of wraps, you can try using less wraps with higher gauge wire, but a sleeper build isn't for beginners. Just try doing 2 basic coils and once you get that down then try again.
Tayone415 my friend said I should just try 5 wraps but in the video he does 9 on each!
Ok so watching a tutorial is something you don't have to follow 100% all the time. Think of it like a recipe if it tells you to use 2 table spoons of salt but it's too salty, you wouldn't keep following that recipe. You could do 5 wraps with the VTC and stay in the safe zone depending on the diameter of what your wraping on, but you really should get or borrow an ohm reader for building since ohms change and exact builds aren't exact ohms.

5 wraps will heat up faster but your will be stepping into a dangerous zone there. You will be between 0.18Ω and 0.19Ω which draws between 21A and 23.3A from your battery. Try the build I posted a picture of in my last post, but with 9 wraps. It's using 24 gauge as well.
Yeah, that will cause some slow heat up times as well. lol
I wish I knew the english units of it, I'm sure it's a generic size but it was just a random screwdriver in my toolbox and I used a vernier caliper to measure it. In inches that's 1.5mm * 1cm/10mm * 1in/2.54cm = 0.059055118... in. That's between 1/32" and 2/32" (1/16) or 3/64" and 4/64" (1/16"). Hopefully you can find something that will work, if not just plug what you want into this calculator and it will tell you how to dimension the coil properly: http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp

On a sleeper build the ohns will be a little lower than if you used 2 wires and using 24 gauge you want a bigger diameter than 1.5 you'll get more burnt cotton. If you're still new to dripping going to low isn't advised by most people for safety but it isn't going to be a nice vaping experience to go low right away.
Right? It's pretty good.
I don't get any burnt cotton taste. All it requires it wicking properly.
OP, PM me and I will give you the details on wicking this build properly and being as safe as you can be with sub-ohming.
