So my fiance and I bought e-cigs a few weeks ago, just got them in the mail today.

I was really excited, but so far, its not living up to my expectations. I know it's going to be different than smoking a regular, paper cig...but....

I've been puffing away on this thing, and no only is there very very very little flavor, there is almost no smoke. It feels like I am puffing away on air....

I bought my e-ci from e-cig.com, it's the E11 pen style...or whatever. It was cheap, I went with it 'cause I didn't know if I would enjoy the e-cigarette. I am now aware it is an older model...so...is the model the reason I am getting almost no taste or "smoke"?

If I change models, will I get a better experience. I have already smoked a paper cig simply because it's not a satisfying experience, puffing and puffing away with no taste or sensations at all...

So...I think it may be working now??? I am FINALLY seeming to get some vapor puffs, and get a nice throat hit. But for me the flavor is not very strong at all. I used to smoke about a pack a day of Marlboro Smooth's or Camel Menthols. Maybe I just have to keep experimenting with different puffing styles. or maybe my taste buds really just suck, lol.

What I recently discovered though is two quick puffs (almost like when you light a cigar) and then a long drag (can't really get all that long of a drag off these those, it cuts off after 3 seconds) works the best for me...so far. I still think I am doing something not quite right yet...

But I should stop....feeling a little sick right now, I was trying to experiment a little tooooo long...haha.

Oh and I don't think they sell e-cigs around here? I live in a small city not too far away from Columbus, Ohio. In my city I have never seen anyone with an e-cig, and when I talk about it, no one knows what I am talking about lol.

Oh, and would would switching from pre-filled nic to the kind you drop on yourself affect the amount of vapor I inhale?

They take a bit of getting used to. I would suggest ordering a sample pack of juice, and experiment with it for a while. Prefilled cartridges can get expensive in the long run.

I really struggled the first few days with the same thing you are going through. It really helped me to look in the mirror to see how different types of draws were affecting the battery.

I eventually got it working fairly well sometimes, but soon decided it was more than I wanted to deal with. So I bought one with a manual battery and that solved my problems.

Before I got the manual battery I found that sometimes I was not drawing hard enough to activate the battery. And sometimes I was drawing too hard and getting juice in my mouth or invoking the battery cutoff before I could really get anything vaporized.

A longer slower drag works best, provided you are actually activating the battery.

Yeah, too much experimenting the first few hours messed me up too.

You may also want to try a completely different model. When I got my first e-cig I knew that there was no way it could replace my analog cigs. For few weeks I did vaping and smoking. But I decided to try a completely different model of e-cig and when I tried that, I was sure that with that I could quit analogs. It is really the combination of the type of e-cig, liquid flavor and nicotine strength that has to work in tandem.
