Hello everyone!

I have been researching and researching for almost a year now, and finally took the plunge. Today my Ego-T arrived from NicFit Nation (great service BTW), and after a fumble or two, it's working beautifully.

I only wish I lived in the states and could get juices with nicotine! It's a much much harder quit without it:(

(Damn you, Health Canada!)

Thanks to the tips I have found here, I feel pretty confident in my new life as a vaper. It's a pretty steep learning curve, but if I can finally really quit analogs, everything will be worth it.

Be well and healthy all,
Onawa

Congrats and welcome! As a fellow Canuck vaper, I can tell you there are loads of ways to get what you want, and personally I haven't had any problems ordering from US vendors. The trick is to order juice bottles and refill your carts/cartos. Don't buy pre-filled cartos, those are the things most likely to be seized at the border. Liquids, however, can easily be mistaken for something other than E-juice, especially if the vendor marks the customs form as something else, which many of them do, thankfully.

There are even some vendors here in Canada that carry juice with nicotine. I know of 5 offhand, possibly more. Hardware (including blank carts/cartos) won't get seized at the border, so no worries about that at all. Don't worry too much about it. I've been a very, very happy vaper for nearly a year now and have never had a problem with any of the vendors I've dealt with.

You guys are wonderful, and it's especially awesome to hear from my friendly fellow-Canucks;)

Hour 18 with no analogs (and no nicotine) and I am chaining away, but my Ego-T is working PERFECTLY so far (knocking on wood madly...).

Maybe I can make it with no nicotine? Well if I can't, I'll check out these resources, and I will NOT give up!

*Mwah!*

Think of us like a support group and community of friends with one big shared interest. :)

It's always a possibility to make it without nic. It really depends on your willpower and what it is about smoking that satisfies you. I could never have made it without nic juice because my most important aspect of smoking turned out to be throat hit, and I can't get that without nicotine - at least not in any way that satisfies me like nicotine does. But some people don't care as much or at all about TH, preferring vapor production and/or flavour over all else. So sure, there's every possibility you could make it without nic juice. But there are absolutely ways and places to get nic juice if you find you want or need it.

Good luck with it, and enjoy it!

I've made it through day one, and the withdrawal is terrible. Urgh. Chain-vaping is helping a lot though, and my ego-t continues to work perfectly.

Love you guys, REALLY.

It helps to remember that there are two parts to the equation, and the hand-to-mouth addiction -- the mental part of it -- is the hardest one to break, and the one that stays with you the longest. Nicotine clears your system completely within just a few days -- about a week or so at the upper end, depending on how much you smoked. Feeding the oral fixation at least lets you fight the battle on just one front instead of fighting both going cold turkey.

By the way, in case you were interested and didn't know about it (and plan to continue the 0nic route) Happy Vaper carries a good selection of 0nic flavours, and Jack's an awesome guy to deal with, too. I don't know where in Canada you are but he's just north of Toronto in Richmond Hill, and he hosts vape meets every couple of months or so at the vaper-friendly Honest Lawyer bar in same.

You know, it's going better then I dreaded, even with 0 nic juice. When a craving hits, I just start puffing on my ego and it helps SO MUCH!

Last time I quit, I made it to 7 years before relapsing, the time before 2 years, and the first time another 2 years. I really think the PV is going to really work for me when the cravings get bad.

This quit is going SO much easier then my others, all of which were cold turkey.

That's great to hear! Being able to feed the one addiction (harmlessly, at that) while getting yourself off the physical addiction should really make it a lot easier than trying to kill both at once. With 0mg liquid you're really not doing any harm to yourself so you can vape with a clear conscience, and keep doing it well beyond the dissipation of nicotine in your system. The mental addiction is really the hardest one to cure, but vaping is the best possible way to obviate the need to.

Keep at it, and I'm sure you'll never need to pick up another coffin nail again. :)
