First Day, Finally!

After stalking the mailman, a few of my goodies came yesterday...most importantly my 808 pocket pack. Today will be my first full day with it. I'm trying to adjust and I really want this to work. I don't know if it's just finding a juice I like or getting my taste back after smoking all those analogs, but the couple things I've tried have a great throat hit but seemingly little taste. Like I said I don't wanna fail at this but this has been kind of disappointing. I'm still awaiting some more juices, hopefully what I have is just a fluke.

If you're just making the transition from smoking to vaping your tastebuds are likely in pretty bad shape. It can take a while for your sense of taste to return, give it a few weeks and see what happens. In the meantime just try to get through it by trying to find a juice that is at least somewhat satisfying, and remember that if you stick with it things will start tasting better.

Woohoo! I'm on day 3, and I am of the same opinion on the tastes, found some quite mild. I'm not sure if it's up your alley, but you may want to try a coffee flavoured one, the one I got is the most flavourful so far (MLV Timz Vanilla). Don't forget, as cskent said, your tastebuds are probably a little worse for wear. Also, how are you vaping? There's more to it than tobacco, you will want to take long, slow pulls (my battery cuts out at ~4 seconds).

Congratulations!

Your taste may come and go for a while. Try different juices so that you have some variety in the taste. Put aside any juice that you do not like and try it in 2 weeks or a month. It's taste may change, your ability to taste may change or what you like may change. Part of the Beauty of vaping is the variety of flavors.

Your equipment may not be putting out all that you need. Try different systems; cartos, clearos, dripping. Have Fun with it!

I can attest to the taste bud changes! I am experiencing that right now. I couldn't figure out why flavors I usually do fine with started tasting muted. I increased the flavor in one of them and that handled it. Then I realized what was happening! lol

Hang in there. Cigarettes really do more to us that we think sometimes.

As others have said it's most likely your taste buds, but do try other flavours, especially ones you may not normally think you'd like. When I first started I found that although I am a coffee addict I cannot stand coffee flavoured e-liquid and I loved Cherry Cola although I never ever drink sodas lol.

The first few months are the most exciting. Experimenting with what flavours you like and finding a set up that works for you

I have about 10 or so sample size bottles to try. I have an 808 pen style now with cartos and an eGo with clearomizers on the way, should have it tomorrow or Friday. I'm sticking with it and even with the milder flavor I'm vaping away and pretending I'm out of analogs. So far so good. Don't like the tobacco flavors at all but so far so good....especially with the ones I added a menthol hit to. I was always a menthol smoker.

I like the tobacco flavors as personal choice, but I love the smell of tobacco in it's non burned form. Maybe it is from growing up in tobacco country with the barns around me drying out the tobacco, who knows.

I KNOW I would not be successful if it only tasted like a smoke. I love the FLAVORS and I think that has been a huge help for others as well, although I can only speak for myself.

Welcome and congratulations on your first day!!! After purchasing many flavors from different vendors I have a stock pile already and I am only a couple of weeks in. Your taste will change. I didn't like the taste of the tobacco flavors at first and then they started to grow on me. You will eventually forget what a real cig tastes like. I found that I like the vanilla flavors the best. Everyone's taste buds are different. I have also read that if you get a juice that you don't like let it set for a few weeks and then go back and try it again. Something about letting it seep will enhance the flavor if it is a freshly made juice.

Just put it in your mind that you no longer smoke ... You vape. I stopped cigs right away and baught no more when my pv came. You may want to get something with a bigger battery though like a Ego - T starter kit was my thing. Order a stardust or clearomizer at the same time incase you dont like the ego t system. I loved it at first, then had problems with it.

I HATE cartos and will never give them a chance again. Tanks are the only solution for me!!

I found that many flavors were lost on me early on also. But as taste returns
it can literally be like a wine taster catching all the subtleties and secondary
flavor notes. Early on, the key is to not worry about that yet. Find a juice that
can get you through the critical early stages. Mine was Banana Foster and I really dont
even like bananas. Vaping is a marathon, not a sprint. Go slow and don't pressure yourself!

I also have an eGo with a clearomizer on the way. Should have it today or tomorrow.

Just an update...got my eGo-T kit with clearomizers today and after getting the hang of it, I really like it! Using the 808 kit at work just to avoid weird stares. But so far I'm very happy with both purchases.
