I had my first Dr. visit today since I started vaping (almost a month). I saw someone other than my regular Dr and when she held that stethescope to my chest and asked me to take a deep breath, I thought "this is it..." I took the biggest, deepest breath I could and didn't feel that little wheeze I always tried to hide before. I was so geeked when she listened to my lungs and said they sounded perfect and asked "Have you ever smoked?" (She obviously didn't look at my chart!)

I burst out laughing and said a PAD for 20 years and I quit about a month ago using the e-cig. She looked so shocked. The look on her face was PRICELESS!!!

She had a TON of questions for me and seemed truly impressed with how easy it was to quit. Then she asked where to buy them because her brothers smoke. I referred her to this website and told her to have them to start here.

I have never felt better leaving the Dr. office! Yay! Just had to share. :)

Isn't it a priceless experience to go to the doctor as a non smoker? Even though the damage to my lungs cannot be repaired, I have already been able to eliminate two breathing medications after only a month on vaping. It ia also great that your doctor was open enough to ask questions and want to refer a relative. If we can get more doctors on board what a wonderful world it will be.

I had basically the same thing last month when I went to the Dr. At that point I was almost 3 months into vaping. He was shocked that i quit. I used to tell him every year when I went "I gave up drinking, gave up on chasing women, this is the one where you lose the battle" He smiled after he heard that I quit and politely said "I finally won" He was supportive of using ecigs, and while he doesnt want me to use them(still using nic) it's much better than smoking cigarettes.

yay!
And of course no doctor is going to WANT their patients using nic the same way they dont want us using caffeine alcohol or eating fat and not excercising but most of the good ones recognise 'reduced harm' when they see it. Many also probably see vaping as a 'step on the road' (even if it turns out not to be) to the 'right direction'.

Thanks! I am glad she was so open to the idea. My niece who smokes asked her doctor about them a few months ago, and her Dr. actually told her that e-cigs were just as bad for you as smoking, and they could be even more dangerous because there weren't enough studies on the long-term effects!!! I know it's been said on this forum hundreds of times, but "Duh!" you KNOW analogs are bad, and how can something that reduces the 4000 chemicals be any worse?!?!?

So, needless to say, she's been scared to try them now. At least I can try to change her mind with my success. Such a sad thing that her Dr. would do that...

Wait until your next dental checkup.

My dental hygienist said my tartar buildup had reduced 50%.

+1. My last two 6-month checkups were the easiest I have had in the nearly 20 years I've been going to my dentist. (I smoked for 21 years.)

The hygienist and dentist were so excited about it, they insisted I go to my car, get my PV, and bring it in the office for a demo.
