I just got an Enigma clone today as my first attempt at dual coil. I built it and then tested it and it read .8 ohm. Not too bad I figured. Placed it on my new iTaste 134 and nothing! Anyone has any ideas as to why?

I first wired them both through the center post, and one on each side of course. Then I tried one through the center post, and the other around the screw of the center post so the two weren't touching. Same result.

Btw I am on an iPad and hope these pictures come up. If not I will keep trying. I wouldn't post this topic without pictures obviously! :)

Ok they came up fine! Thanks in advance for any help!

Checked out the Itaste 134's owners manual available from Innokins site... as I suspected.. you will likely need to lower the wattage to compensate for the lower resistance coil build..
The device likely has protection circuitry that will not allow the firing if the amp draw is too high due to lower resistance..

"Variable Wattage:
The wattage can be adjusted with the rotational wheel to 6.5W, 7W, 8W, 9W, 10W, 11W, 12W, and 12.5W
Use lower wattage for low-resistance (ohms) accessories and higher wattage for high-resistance (ohms) accessories" -Itaste 134 Owners Manual..

Try lowering your variable wattage setting a couple notches and see if it fires then.

.8Ω is pretty close to the 134's cutoff... Maybe it's a little too low?

Only other thing I could think of is that the connections aren't secure; AKA tighten them down a 'lil more or try tugging on them to see if you tightened them down too much and clipped the wire with the screw.

According to spec sheets it's rated for 5 amps, .8Ω @ 12.5w is just under 4 amps so he should be fine if that was the case.

Ok so there is progress. I took one coil off, and it fired fine. I switched coils and took the other one off. It fired fine as well. I have noticed that one of the outside posts does spin a bit on this deck. Could that be an issue? This morning I have rebuilt this again. Two new coils, it tests at .9 ohm. It will now fire but the first coil takes about 6 or 7 seconds to become red and the second one barely starts to get red before the 10 second mark.

I am lost!!

If one coil is heating faster than the other, it could be 1 of 2 things. Either the two coils aren't equal resistance (Make sure they're the same # of wraps, and make sure if you're doing microcoils that they're both squeezed together evenly) or one of your connections is loose. If one of the posts are spinning, it very much could be the second one.

Also, since .9Ω is 2x1.8Ω coils you're prolly gonna have to turn your voltage/wattage up from where you normally keep it.

The iTaste was really purchased just because it was the first mod that ever caught my eye when I was still using Egos and this deal came along in the classifieds that I couldn't pass up. I just want a good looking dripper on it, so any suggestions? My daily mod is an eVic with an Igo L wrapped at 1.1. I have a Nemi clone on the way and a Tobh Atty waiting for it, so that is going to be my first jump into mechs and possibly lower resistances. I have a kick for it just to start with while I learn. I'm not jumping into mechs to try to chase clouds. :)
