Well I went and did it - just ordered my first e cig from cignot. Got the 510, spare atomizer, and 5ml juice. Total w/shipping was 55.00.

Hopefully I ordered enough to get me through 2 weeks (I get paid every 2 weeks and want to get on a cycle of ordering supplies when I get paid so as not to run out).

I figured I'd spend the $55 anyway, so I chose to spend it on the 510 instead of analogs.

Now I just need the thing to get here!

I suppose now comes the mods, upgrades, trying some of the 543,656,948,284 flavors, etc - but it beats smoking.

Wish me Luck on this - I'll let everyone know when I get it and start vaping instead of smoking

Also, thanks to everyone who offered their help on this. I looked at several models before going with the 510, figuring I can always upgrade with the $ I'll be saving. Hey, my first car wasn't a Cadillac (come to think if it, it still isn't!)

I say kudos to you on the 510 choice. In today's market there are adapters to allow you to try other models as well such as 510 -> 808, 510 -> 901, etc. This could be a much cheaper way for you to find exactly what it is you are looking for in a PV :D I should know...my wife is (I'll be polite as it's mother's day today) on my case about the $600 I've spent trying as many models and mods as I could stand until I fell upon my Silver Bullet. Now all my money goes to cartomizers for the no mess and convenience of it all. I figure why pay 10 bucks for one atty when I can get 5 for that and re-fill them. I use my SB at 6v and carto's last me almost a week! Woot Woot!

Congrats on your purchase and when it finally arrives you won't be disappointed.

Once you get going you can also check out the Pay it Forward thread on here to give to others and get from others. Stuff like carto's, liquids, batteries, heck....I've even seen people give away mods on there!

Good luck!!

Welcome Aboard!

Anyway, Cignot.com is my supplier...they ship 'real' fast. I don't think 5ml will be enough...next order get as strong a nicoten as you can and some 80/20 mix juice...that way it is cheaper.

Eight months ago, when I first started, I used my cigarette allowance for that month to finance my e-cigs. Course, I was spending $240 a month.

OK, but what the heck is 80/20 mix juice? And where do you get it? And how much do you need?

Never assume I know anything - I've disproved that theory repeatedly on a variety of subjects (ask my wife)

Hopefully the 5 carts plus the juice will last since it won't have to last the full 2 weeks...I reckon we'll find out!

the 80/20 mix juice he's referring to would be something that's 80% PG and 20% VG, I'm assuming..

Doesn't REALLY matter if you got all PG and I find that 10% VG does it for me, it's a subjective thing. VG (vegetable glycerin) produces more exhaled Vapor than PG does, but taste and throat hit, (the feeling you get when inhaling in the back of your throat), take a bit of a kick down.

I don't really think 5ml will be enough for 2 weeks either, sorry to say..unless you were a very light smoker? You could always get another order in QUICKLY, if you like the flavor and feeling you're getting with the liquid you ordered.

Good luck!! Any question, just ask, there's always someone here to help!!

Bubba, you really will need to order some more juice soon, maybe invest $20 and go shopping at Cignot in their liquid section. Pick out 4 or 5 small bottles of the flavors you think you'll like and let your taste testing begin. Everyone's tastes are different. I'm fairly new (one month) to the vaping scene and I started out just like you are. I started out with RY4 26 mg of nicotine and I've kept my nic at that level so far. If you think you want tobacco flavors, the Virginia brand is good. I started out with RY 4 PG and VG just to see what the difference was and then I began blending the two together. Then I ordered some of Cignot's Ecopure which is VG based with a small amount of PG. Their Basic line is good, at least the sample I tried of Basic Tobacco #1 is. It's brand new and I haven't seen it posted on the site yet so you might want to email Vicky and ask her how to order some. It's a very smooth tobacco flavor with what a hint of cotton candy. It's by far my favorite so far. That bottle you ordered will last you long enough for another order to arrive unless you chain vape. I'm a pretty heavy vaporer and 5 ml lasts me several days. I know how lost you're feeling but hang in there and remember that all of us learned this by trial and error because everyone's tastes are different and your taste will change as more time comes between you and your last analog. Be patient and keep reading and learning and soon you won't feel so lost in the jungle. ;)

I think you should start in the 24 - 26 mg range. I was a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker of Misty Lights and this range of nicotine is working well for me. You'll know after a few sessions if it's going to be too much but with the brand you were smoking and the amount you smoked, I'd think you need the higher level. You can always taper down. 10 ml will last me a little over a week.

Should have mentioned, I ordered the 24mg level. Based on your numbers I'd need a total of 20ml for 2 weeks, so basically I need to order another 15 ml. My biggest fear is that I get the 510, start vaping and say "Wow this is great...crap I'm outa juice!"

I'd suggest you start in the 24mg to 36mg range if you were smoking 2 packs a day. I'd also order yourself a 30ml bottle of liquid, if you can swing it. Better to have TOO much than not enough!

Yeah, you're probably right - I'd rather be looking at it than for it. Just have to find some on the cheaper side for now...other than cignot, who has good prices on juice? The only other site I know of is Totally Wicked, but they're a UK company so the shipping time is a concern. Any suggestions?

Totally wicked is a name that is seldom spoke of on ECF because of customer service. Personally, I have never had an issue with them and have ordered a few times. They have a place in FL so shipping to me in PA is usually about 2 days from TW.

For juices, there are many places to find what you are looking for at a good price. One of the cheapest is Viking Vapor .com They don't carry tobacco flavors yet but they do have everything else under the sun! And they do the custom mix option of VG/PG (per the 80/20 question from earlier). Another is Vapor4life .com as they have 30 ml for 12.50! And they have tobacco flavors if that is what you're into.

Personally, I am a fan of PureSmoker .com's juices. I have not found (once again personal preference) another vendor who's quality is up to theirs as far as flavor goes....they are a bit pricier though.

Ah, so what if that happens. You smoke analogs for a week then and next payday you just order juice, this time enough for 2 weeks. The hardware won't go bad on you in the meantime. And you didn't smoke a couple of packs at least and got some time and learning in with your PV. Once you've got enough supplies you'll be set to try again.

I think once you're setup and get over the basic noob issues you'll be vaping full time, but even if you find you need an analog now and then just think how many you didn't smoke and be happy.

I would recomend getting the juice from cignot just beacuse their prices are good and shipping is amazingly quick. It only took 2 days for me to get my last order. They're located near chicago and I live in Texas. Shipping is a flat rate of 5 bucks and free shipping if you spend over 59 bucks. They have 5 ml bottles for 3 bucks. So you can get a few flavors without spending too much money. I'm a noob so I always recomend shopping around but this is where I found the best deals so far.
