So I just got a Buddha mini and just made my own coils following a YouTube video. My question is what settings should I use on a sigelei 150w, or does that all depend on my preference? It's 7 wraps of 24 kanthal. I'm not entirely sure on the ohms since I don't have access to an ohm reader at this moment. I'm still rather new. The coils seem to heat up and cool down at the same rate. I guess I'm just not understanding the joule setting. Thanks in advance.

The Sigelei should tell you the resistance of your setup (should be in the range of .3 ohms)... but you really need to get an ohm meter, and use Steam Engine to help guide you. Watch more YouTube videos. Better safe than...
I have access to one, but I'm just not where it is right now, I guess I was just too eager to try my hand at making a coil.

If you are vaping kanthal you should be in power mode. Not Temp Control mode. Katha wire is not low enough in resistance to respond to the temp control chip.

If your coil inner diameter is 2.5mm you are ohming out in the .2 to .3 ohm range. If you put it in power mode yiu will see the resistance on your screen.

It sounds lke you need to educate yourself as to what you are doing overall.

Always read the resistance before powering a coil. The good thing is you have a protected, regulated box so you wont cause a mishap.

If you ever want a mech mod or voltage regulated box that doesnt have short protection you need a digital multimeter. A cheap $20 one will work fine for vapes. You can use it to check the voltage on your batteries too.

Not quite. It isn't the resistance itself that makes Kanthal not work for temperature control, it is Kanthal's lack of a significant increase in resistance as temperature increases.
